A/N: So I'm sure that after seeing Deathly Hallows, writers everywhere were scrambling to their computers to write their take on the Harry/Hermione dance scene. Well, this is mine. Oh, and it's my first Potter fanfic story, so I'm kinda excited I finally found my muse. *squee*

Oh, and I took the title from a song from A Very Potter Musical. Haven't seen it? You haven't lived, then.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. Please do not remind me of this sad fact.

He looked at her. She sat forlornly in a corner, legs drawn up against her chest, listening to the radio. His radio. Her cheeks and nose were red, the symptoms of her tears. He knew he had to do something, anything to get her to smile again.

His body acting of its own accord, he walked over to the crying girl, and held out his hands. She looked up at him, confused, curious, and hesitantly took them in hers. He pulled her up and gently removed the cursed locket from around her neck, tossing it carelessly on the bunk.

Leading her out into the middle of the tent, he slowly began moving their arms, encouraging her to move. Resistant at first, she finally gave in, and then they began dancing. The music from the radio swirled around them, encasing them in a bubble all their own. He twirled her, her light brown hair forming a temporary halo around her head, and then he spun around, making her laugh. It was a beautiful sound; a miracle to hear. They held each other close, rocking gently back and forth as the song ended, as they returned to reality. Her head was resting on his shoulder, seeking the comfort in his familiar presence.

"I'll always be here for you, Hermione," Harry whispered into her hair. "I'll never leave you."

She looked up at him, her eyes brimming with tears once more. She desperately wanted to believe him; those words brought her so much hope. They stared at each other, and then their bodies moved of their own accord, and their lips connected.

Warmth. Comforting. Love.

Pure love was in that kiss.

"Thank you, Harry," she whispered back.

And in that moment, everything was forgotten. There was no right or wrong, no good or evil, no red-haired boy or his younger sister.

There was Harry and there was Hermione.

There were two friends who cared more about each other than anyone else.

And that was okay with them.

A/N: Loved it? Hated it? Please leave me a review! I'm hoping to write more for this fandom in the future, so your reviews will help me become a better writer! :)
