Back-story

Isabella's POV:

I was sitting at the lunch table with my girlfriend and her family. She had her arm wrapped around me, protectively. I began thinking about all that has happened. My beloved Rosalie and I have been together for about half a year. We met during the beginning of the high school year when I moved to Forks.

When I first saw her, it seemed like she absolutely hated me. She gave me glares that could make you curl in the fetal position and cover your eyes and ears. After a few weeks, she became friendlier and I warmed up to her fast. Then out of thin air, she became cold and distant again. I was so confused.

I had thought she was playing with me. When I confronted her about it, she said it was safer this way and that more than anything she wants to be near me. I challenged her and said that I did too. At first she refused bit it didn't take long before Mike got on her nerves by asking me out. She confessed to me that she had romantic feelings towards me. She said she couldn't be away from me any longer. When she told me that, I found the courage to confess my feelings to her as well.

I remember her saying before we got involved with each other she had to tell me a huge secret. When I waited for her to continue; I was shocked to learn that she was a vampire. At first I thought she was making that up, but she proved her strength and speed. When I realized she was telling the truth, I stayed away from her. She no longer went to school. After a while, something inside me snapped. I felt different. I got use to the idea and came to the conclusion that Rosalie would never hurt me. I went to her siblings and asked to talk to her and they agreed.

I met Rosalie and told her I was no longer afraid of her. She seemed to have mixed emotions about that. She was happy I knew she wouldn't hurt me but also afraid of my courage.

We decided to date and ever since then, we were inseparable. We weren't apart for very long.

I started thinking about being with Rosalie forever. I wanted to become like her so that we could live happily together forever. I was a bit shocked at her answer. She made it clear that was never going to happen. We argue about that a lot from time to time.

I was pulled out of my thoughts by Rosalie nudging me. "Are you okay?"

I looked at her and smiled at the look of concern in her eyes. "Yeah, I'm just remembering when we met."

She smiled lovingly and kissed the top of my head. "The best day of my life." She whispered.
