Hello there my beautiful readers! Beware The Weeping Angels here with another story! There will be relationships, however they are 12/11!!!! There may be some hugging and cuddling and cheek kissing, but nothing else. Maybe later on when they are older more will happen, but that will be it for now. I do not own Harry Potter at all, JK Rowling does. I do need options though. Who should Neville be with?
-Luna Lovegood?
-Hannah Abbott?
-Ginny Weasley?
-Tracey Davis?
Please Vote and let me know!!! Anyway, on with the story!
"Hermione!" Harry Potter gasps, pulling on Ron Weasleys robe. Professor Quirrell has just fainted in the middle of the great hall after announcing that there was a troll in the dungeon. It was Halloween night, and in the middle of the feast.
"What about her?" Ron asks, rolling his eyes. Earlier that day during Charms class, Ron had insulted their classmate Hermione Granger. It was very clear from the moment they met that Ron and Hermione would never get along. Hermione was all about books and studying, while Ron was all about relaxing and being lazy.
When Harry has first met Ron, he seemed nice enough. He was the first wizard his age he met, and Harry was fascinated with the stories Ron shared with him. Thinking back on it, Ron was always rather rude. He was always criticizing those who study and insulting those in Slytherin house without knowing them.
"She doesn't know about the troll!" Harry exclaimed. When Ron had insulted her, by calling her a know-it-all that has no friends, Hermione had gone and, according to Parvati Patil, gone and locked herself in the girls bathroom near the charms classroom on the third floor.
"So what?" Ron shrugged his shoulders. "She's probably read all about trolls, she can take care of herself."
Harry looks at Ron in disbelief. His supposed friend would rather Hermione die than put his own life at risk. Shaking his head with anger, he rushed off on his own. However, he didn't get very far.
"Harry!" Neville Longbottom called out, chasing after him. "I'm coming with you."
Harry glances at the chubby boy. He has yet to produce any spells perfectly, and has always been the slowest in all of the classes. However, here he was, volunteering to go after a troll.
"Hermione has always been there for me. She's like a sister to me." Neville explained, his face filled with determination instead of its usual fear. "I won't let anything harm her."
Neville and Hermione first met on the Hogwarts Express, when Trevor the toad escaped Neville once again. Hermione volunteered to help look for him. Neville was thankful, and a friendship started.
These first two months have been terrible for both of them, so they stuck together. Hermione being lonely in this new world and Neville being an outcast. They became like brother and sister.
Harry nods in agreement to what Neville said about not letting anything harm Hermione. He didn't know Hermione that well. And their interactions have never been friendly to say the least. Hermione's nagging had pushed Harry to his limits sometimes. However, she was more than willing to keep her mouth shut for him.
When Malfoy had challenged him to a duel, she did reprimand him for accepting (even though it was Ron who accepted on his behalf), but she never told a teacher or prefect. If it had been just Ron he had a feeling she most likely would have told.
He motions for Neville to keep quiet as they follow Percy Weasley and the other prefects, who were leading the houses back to the common room. Once they got to the third floor, they slipped into the charms corridor, keeping a look out for the girls bathroom.
Suddenly, a foul stench has reached their noses, and both gryffindors gagged on the smell. That was not natural. When a loud stomp was heard, they looked at each other. They were suddenly aware of a large shadowy figure approaching.
"Looks like the troll left the dungeon." Harry commented, not letting the dread and fear creep onto his face. He was a gryffindor. He was brave, and he will save his friend. Neville was thinking the exact same thing as determination filled them up.
The troll walked through a doorway. Harry got the idea to close the door behind it and lock it away, however he then saw the sign on the door.
"That's the girl's bathroom!" Harry gasps. A high pitched scream could be heard, and they both ran towards the bathroom.
The pair follow the troll, only to see the bathroom in ruins. Stalls were completely wrecked, wood everywhere. Water was spraying from a couple of the sinks, and a smell that was worse than anything normally in bathrooms was in the air. They see Hermione hiding underneath a pile of wood, not seeing the boys enter.
"Hermione move!" Harry shouts to her, as both him and Neville grab rubble and start to throw it at the troll. They knew it wouldn't do anything, but maybe it can distract the troll from Hermione.
The plan works as the troll grunts and turns to face the new challengers. However, neither of them had a plan after that. The troll didn't need a plan, and just swung its club at them. Neville jumped out of the way and towards Hermione, while Harry jumped onto the club.
Both Neville and Hermione watched in horror as the troll lifted his club up and tried to shake Harry off. Instead, Harry let go at the right moment and landed on the troll's shoulders. The troll jumps around confused, as Harry does the one thing he knows he can do.
"Ew!" Hermione grimaced as she watched one of her saviors shove his wand up the nose of the troll. It seemed to disorientate the troll, so hopefully it was worth it for Harry. Next to Hermione, Neville pulled out his wand.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" He shouts, pointing his wand at the club, however nothing happened. Hermione glances at him confused. He said the spell perfectly and the wand movement was flawless. So why didn't the spell work?
The troll grabbed Harry off his shoulders and flung him to the ground. He didn't move at first, but eventually got to his feet. Both Hermione and Neville watched in amazement as Harry stared down the troll.
Harry no longer felt the pain he did when he hit the ground. Removing this troll from the castle was his priority, pain comes later. He's grown used to putting pain off because the Dursley's wouldn't care and they'd force him to do chores even after a beating.
His green eyes turned brighter, glowing slightly. His fists grew golden with power as he throws his hands up. Two jets of this golden energy fire and hit the troll. One hits the trolls club, which bursts into a million pieces. The second hits the troll in its head, knocking his wand free.
He picks up his wand, and the troll starts to sway. Harry grabs Hermione's hand as they run from the troll, and Neville follows. The troll collapses just as they get out of range. The trio sighs in relief. Apparently the second beam had more of an effect than they thought.
"Is it... dead?" Hermione asks the duo. Harry walks up to the body and shakes his head. "No, just knocked out."
"Harry..." Neville asks. "What was that? The glowy stuff?"
"I honestly have no idea Neville." Harry shrugs his shoulders. They both then realized that they took down an actual mountain troll. Harry and Neville grin. That was quite the adventure.
Gasps could be heard behind them as the trio turns around to see Professors Snape, Mcgonagall, and Quirrell. Upon seeing the troll, Quirrell clutched his heart and leaned up against the wall.
Mcgonagall was speechless, her face a mix between red with anger and pale of fear. Snape on the other hand managed to keep his composure, however the trio gulped when they saw the glint in his eyes. They are so dead.
"Explain yourselves!" Mcgonagall managed to get out. It was clear she was angry beyond belief.
"Um..we..I.." Harry and Neville stuttered, before Hermione stepped up.
"It's not their fault Professor Mcgonagall." She told her, her brown eyes strong. "I was in the bathroom during the feast. I didn't hear any warning against the troll, and both boys knew that. They came after me with hopes to only warn me and get me back to the common room."
Having calmed down, Mcgonagall asked why she was in the bathroom the entire feast. It was clear Hermione was hesitant to throw Ron under the bus, as she thought he was still Harry's friend.
"I'll answer that." Harry told her. "It was Ron Weasley. During charms class Hermione tried to help him when he was saying the levitation charm wrong, and he got mad at her."
"Then as we got out of class, I heard him say something about me being a nightmare and that it's no wonder I've got no friends." Hermione finished. "I started to cry and went in here, and you know the rest."
"I'll come back to the bullying issue later." Mcgonagall told her, a look in her eye that made all three kids smile, knowing Mcgonagall would help. "How on earth did three first years manage to take out a mountain troll?"
"Honestly we aren't too sure Professor." Neville admitted. "Me and Harry arrived here, and started to throw rubble at the troll to distract it. The troll swung its club, Harry jumped on it and shoved his wand up the troll's nose."
"The troll then knocked Harry off of him, and something really weird happened. His eyes glowed green and his fists gold. He shot beams and destroyed the club and knocked the troll out." Hermione finished. "Oh and by the way Neville, it's Harry and I, not me and Harry."
Snape's eyes widen. He knows that power. Only the most powerful wizards could ever possibly use it. It was pure magic, not controlled by spells. The only reason that the Magic didn't kill the troll is because Potter isn't a killer. He must inform Albus at once.
McGonagall's eyes widened in surprise and happiness. Her cub could control pure magic? And he was so light hearted he didn't kill?
Quirrell's eyes widened in fear. His master was not pleased with this revealation. He was forced to flee the room, however luckily Quirrell built himself a reputation for being squeemish so they wouldn't think anything of it.
Mcgonagall told the trio she would inform them later. Albus must not find out about this. He wasn't the perfect leader of the light that he made himself out to be. He would use Potter like a weapon if he found out. Severus swept out of the room, and she nearly let out a groan. Too late not to let Albus know.
"20 points to gryffindor each for being courageous, loyal, and strong for bonds of friendship." McGonagall smiles. "I'll go deal with Mr. Weasley. For now, why don't you three go to the hospital wing to be checked out. I shall meet you back in the common room, the feast is being finished there."
The trio nods and heads off. Once they get out of the bathroom Hermione gives both boys a bear hug.
"Thank you two so much for saving me." She cries. "Harry I have been nothing but nagging and annoying and yet you still jumped to the rescue. Neville you put your nerves behind you and saved me."
"It was nothing." Harry blushes.
"I think he likes you." Neville whispers to Hermione, who blushes as well.
"Come on brother!" Hermione grins at Neville, while taking Harry's hand. "Let's go to the hospital wing quickly. I'm starving."
Neville rolls his eyes at Hermione and grins.
"Race?" He asks the two of them. Both Harry and Hermione grin, and the three took off.
Professor Minerva McGonagall was on a mission. The Fat Lady could tell, and opened up for her without the password. As calmly as she could, she told the prefects to gather all the students. Once they were all there, she started.
"First off I want to inform you that the troll has been dealt with and the castle is safe once more." Mcgonagall stated. "However a couple of issues have been raised to my attention. How many of you know who the prefects are?"
All hands pointed to Percy Weasley, whom grins and puffs out his chest.
"How about other than Mr. Weasley?" Mcgonagall questions. The students all shook their heads, embarrassed. "If you are a perfect, please stand." All of them then stood up, their badges gleaming. "These are your prefects. All of them are to be treated with respect and they are here to help you. And now to my next issue. Ron Weasley, stand forward."
The youngest Weasley boy walks forward confused. What had he done?
"Mr. Weasley, I know what happened during and after your charms lesson." Mcgonagall tells him. "It is mean and rude to say those things about someone, especially a fellow Gryffindor."
Everyone was listening. Who was it he insulted? What did he say? Percy was shaking his head in embarrassment and the twins looked at each other confused.
"But it's true!" Ron burst out, forgetting who he was speaking too. "Granger is an insufferable know-it-all!"
"30 points from Gryffindor Mr. Weasley." Mcgonagall glares. "And three detentions with Mr. Flich."
Ron glares at her but stayed silent. The three brothers made silent oaths to fix his behavior.
Mcgonagall then addresses the entire house again. "I will be talking with the other heads of houses about making new rules about bullying. I would advice you to be expecting an announcement around lunch tomorrow. That will be all, goodnight."
The common room bustles with excitement, and Ron starts to shove some more food in his mouth when he sees his brothers approach. Uh Oh.
