This fic is for the Criminal Minds Weekly Prompts, the Valentine's Edition one. I'll be writing the regular one later on as well.

I chose prompt 4. Write a fic including the following words:flowers, alluring, burning, red, sweet (and of course), love.

He nervously patted down his hair. The flowers in his hand, ready to give to her. They'd only been together six months and this was their first Valentine's Day together.

Forcing some deep breaths, he waited for her to get to the door. He anxiously fought the urge to bounce foot to foot. It wasn't used to dates. This was his first Valentine's Day with someone else, ever.

His heart skipped a beat, or at least it felt like it when she opened the door. And there she stood, looking very alluring in her red cocktail dress. She was so charming. And so powerful. She had his heart in her hand and therefore had the power to crush it at any time.

"Reid," she said softly.

His face burning red under her gaze he stuck out his arm containing the flowers. A dozen red roses. It was very cliche Garcia had said, but he'd spent hours going over Valentine's Day things. And roses always came up. And from the smile on her face, she liked them.

"These are so sweet," she exclaimed. "You're so sweet."

With his face burning a deep red now, he looked down. "Are you ready?" he asked JJ whom was smiling ear to ear.

"Yes!" she said in growing excitement. Shutting the door firmly behind her, she followed Reid.

What was this feeling he felt? It was overwhelming and despite the chilly arm he felt warmth. He'd never felt it before and now he understood. It was love. He'd spent hours trying to research love and relationships but there are some things a genius can't even understand until they feel it.

It was love. It was so simple and sweet. But yet so powerful. And he'd found it. With her, with JJ.

Now he too smiled ear to ear and he began rapidly speaking about all the plans he had for them tonight. The sound of her musical laughter made him confident. She was his girl. And he was happy.
