Never before had a mere building been so intimidating. As Lucius stood at the door to the Black Chateau, his nerves almost forced him to turn around and run away. However, the Malfoy suave, debonair side of him resurfaced and he rang the doorbell. A chiming came from the interior before the door was opened by a tiny, knobbly houself.

"I'm here for the lady of the house," Lucius said to the small creature and he was escorted to the cavernous kitchen. Druella and Bellatrix sat at a small table beneath a serpentine chandelier, each sipping at coffee.

"Lucius," Druella stood and crossed the room, sweeping him into an embrace. "If you're looking for Narcissa then I regret to inform you that she's out for the day."

"It's fortunate that I didn't come for her, then," Lucius said warmly, inclining his head in a small bow. Bellatrix laughed airily from her perch across the room, "I'm flattered, Malfoy, but it's a little tasteless to call on a married woman. What would my husband say?"

Druella shot an icy glare at her eldest daughter ("He knows I'm joking, Mum!") and turned back to Lucius, "What can I do for you, dear?"

"I would like to ask your permission," he pulled a ring box from his pocket and showed its contents to Druella "to marry Narcissa."

"Holy shit!" Bellatrix exclaimed as she ran over to examine the ring closer. "You can marry ME for that rock!"

"Bella, stop being unladylike," Druella scolded without looking at her. She pulled her eyes from the ring to look Lucius in the eyes. "What are your intentions with my youngest daughter?"

"Mrs. Black, I love and care for your daughter. I would give her anything she desires to make her happy," Lucius responded candidly. "However cliché it sounds, I can't imagine living without her."

"Aww Lucius!" Bellatrix swooned dramatically as her mother teared up and hugged Lucius. "I didn't know you were such a softie!"

Druella looked harshly at Bellatrix, who disappeared into her coffee mug. "You absolutely have my permission to marry Narcissa," Druella wiped away at the tears on her fair face. "And I promise that Bella won't say a word to Narcissa about it." She reached for her wand.

"Oh, I won't say anything," Bellatrix muttered, rolling her eyes. "I simply can't u wait /u for the little pixie to start flouncing about England, telling everyone she's engaged." She let out an annoyed groan.

"Good thing you kept in your excitement after Rodolphus popped the question, eh?" Druella sighed, though her smile stayed in place. "Even you were giddy with his proposal, Bella."

Lucius laughed as Bellatrix reddened and brushed off her mother's words. Nothing would make him happier than if Narcissa rejoiced over his proposal.
