Ch.1 Don't cry

Luce's POV

I sat on my windowsill staring out at the night sky, wondering if, maybe, I would see Daniel tonight. A flash of gold drew my attention to a nearby chimneypot, where I saw Cam sat, looking in at me. I pushed open the window and beckoned him over "Cam!" I shouted over the wind. He flew over to me with amazing speed. "Luce." He bowed and I giggled. "Cam, have you seen Daniel?" I guessed the worry showed on my face as his face softened and he sat down on the ledge outside my window. I haven't seen my brother for quite a few days now, I'm sorry…" Something was wrong; Cam and Daniel only ever called each other 'My Brother' when they were worried about each other. "Cam, what's wrong?" "Full of questions this evening aren't we?" He smiled at me before sighing and continuing "Look, Luce, there really isn't much I can say, just don't worry ok? Everything is fine, once you find out why Daniel isn't here, you'll think it was silly that you ever worried." He stood up and pulled the legs of his trousers back into shape, "Hey, it's Christmas in a few weeks, try and look forward to that instead of worrying about your ditzy blonde boyfriend." Cam threw a smirk before diving off my window ledge and pulling himself up to a curve just before he hit the ground. "Show off!" I yelled and I heard his laughter echo back to me. I shivered and pulled the window shut, tugging the curtain across on the bar; I ran across the room and leapt under my covers. It was nice to have little conversations with Cam, when he wasn't trying to kill me… I fell asleep in a short amount of time and I realised how long I must have been sat at the window, waiting. My dream was one of pure bliss, a dream of Daniel, flying us way above the clouds. Just me and him, no worries, no cares. If only… I woke up early in the morning and, to my surprise, felt tears burning in my eyes, don't cry, don't cry. I took a deep breath in, nope, still didn't work. The tears spilled down my cheeks. Suddenly, a soft, warm hand stroking my hair, another wiping the tears from my skin. I looked up and smiled.
