Philip Holmes is having a bad day. Although he and his wife, Susan, leave their adopted daughter, Jodie, under the care of Nathan Dawkins, it wasn't enough for him. This is because he got strangled on his way out. Because of this, he calls her evil, and a monster for this.
Now, he attempts to kill this so-called monster.
Sneaking inside the base, he is holding a kitchen knife he got from his house. Entering Jodie's room with a key he stole from Nathan, he now raises his knife while the girl is sleeping.
"Goodbye, you monster," he silently stated as he is about to stab her.
Suddenly, some force pushes him to the drawer. It was Aiden, the entity that is connected to Jodie ever since birth. Because of him, Jodie has to live her own life in a research laboratory. Well, at least Nathan and his assistant, Cole Freeman, are being nice to her.
The noise has awakened Jodie to see what her foster father is trying to do to her. Noticing the knife on his hand, she realizes it.
"What are you..." she muttered.
"Now, it's time for you to die, my child!" Philip screamed as he lunges his knife to her, but she rolls out of her bed and runs away from her bedroom.
He took chase after her and pins her down to the floor. His knife is in position for the kill.
"Now, Jodie, this is gonna hurt! SAY GOODBYE, YOU MONSTER!" he screamed.
"Aiden, help!" the girl screamed for help through the entity linking her.
Suddenly, Philip is starting to choke as he feels a mysterious force is strangling him and Jodie runs away from him. He tries to fight back against it, but it is too stronger for him. After a few seconds, he drops to the ground.
Philip Holmes is now officially dead.
Jodie didn't want for this to happen, but Aiden has no other choice. He has to protect her even if it means to kill anyone who tried to hurt her. This is just like with the boy she tried to play with outside the snow tried to smother her with snow. Aiden has almost killed that boy.
Nathan and Cole arrive at the scene to see the aftermath.
"Jodie, what happened?" the former asked while giving the little girl some comfort.
"Oh my god," the latter muttered on seeing her foster father's dead body. "This is just like what happened in the movie where a teenage girl killed her mother by sending sharp utensils like knives on her when she tried to kill her because of her powers. Only in this present situation, it's a little girl killing her adoptive father by strangling him when he tried to kill her."
"He... he tried to kill me, but Aiden saved me! He killed him!" Jodie cried while hugging her guardian. "I'm sorry! What have I done?"
"It's okay, Jodie. It's okay," Nathan started to comfort her from this. "Like I said before when he tried to strangle him the moment he stepped out, you made the right decision."
The next day in the cemetery, a gravestone shows of the man who tried to kill Jodie.
It reads.
Philip Holmes
May 19, 1969 – April 9, 1997
"The man who tried to kill a little girl."
Outside the cemetery, his wife, Susan looks to it, but she's not going to make a visit. Unlike Philip, she loves Jodie even if she has powers. The truth is, she hated him for this so she is not going to visit his grave.
"At least you got what you deserved, Philip," she muttered while trying to find hope for her foster child. "Now, Jodie, wherever your true mother is, I'll set you free."
Susan knows that no matter what, Jodie will have a good life with Nathan and Cole around.
