Ok everyone, this is a quick and easy story I wrote to help me break out of my writers block. I played around with the idea a lot so I really hope you enjoy.

"Alya?" I ask. She looks over at me and I slip out of my seat and kneel in front of her.

"Nino?"

"I have something I need to say…

You were always an active kid. You told me your mom said you has a touch of ADHD but you always thought she just meant you have character.

You loved to climb trees and jump from branch to branch, playing in the mud, things like that. So of course when you went to our first group camping trip with our ecology class you were a little too excited!

I was always the quiet observer, the new kid, the music geek. I wasn't one for outdoors but when I tried to fake being sick so I didn't have to go my parents called bluff and forced me to go for the off chance that I might make some friends. Yeah right…

Neither of us really knew many people, we'd never really crossed paths in class, Of course I had seen you around sitting next to the really cute blue haired girl named Marinette.

I remember always feeling kinda drawn to you, I always just figured it was because I liked Marinette and you two girls were always tied together by the hip.

But when I heard you gasp and slip away from the group I decided to follow you.

You raced out through the clearing towards the woods, having spotted the perfect climbing tree.

You didn't notice me following me until I was halfway up the tree when I called out to you.

"What are you doing? What if you fall?!" I hollered.

So you yelled back down to me, "I'm pretty careful, but if I fall you'll catch me right?"

I didn't even get a chance to answer before you climbed up too high and the branch beneath you snapped.

When I caught you, I landed on my right arm breaking it into three pieces." Alya smiles and I take her hands in mine.

"When you came to visit me in the hospital rather than stay at the camp out, and you hung out with me for hours into the night and eventually fell asleep on me I knew you were the one I had been looking for all my life." Alya sniffles and I let go of one of her hands to pull a small black box out of my jacket pocket.

I hold open the box and reveal a small diamond ring.

"Alya, I will always be here to take care of you and catch you when you fall. Will you marry me?"

Alya leaps into my arms and pulls me into a kiss.

"I thought you'd never ask."
