Just another experiment...

It was the final day of the Winner's Bracket in the new Millionaire Fighting Tournament. Because of the tourney's unusual structure, this was the first time two undefeated competitors from the rival circuits would meet. Thanks in part to Kyo getting sent down to Losers early (by Shingo of all people), Iori Yagami had torn through his half of the competition like butter. But his opponent had had an even easier time, kicking out the other half with nary a scratch.

Now they would fight for their circuits' pride, at a sprawling arena filled to capacity with screaming fans. Iori knew his opponent's record - and prior reputation - but when the two finally met in the ring, he couldn't help but scowl.

"...this? This is the best they could send me?"

"Oh, brother," Chun Li laughed, crossing her arms. "You're not one of those 'all women are weak' idiots, are you?"

"No, I'm not," Iori sneered. "I'm one of those 'anyone who fights in a qipao is an idiot' idiots."

("Hey!" Mui Mui and Li Xiangfei cried. They were roundly ignored.)

"Are you serious?" Chun Li pointed at Iori's feet - or, specifically, his pants. "Pal, you are the last person who should be giving anyone fashion advice."

"...don't diss the belt," he growled dangerously.

"Don't diss the qipao!" she countered, grinning as she dropped into fighting stance. "Now come on. Let's see if you can fight as good as you talk."

"Ladies first," Iori sneered, beckoning Chun Li with his hand.

Chun Li happily obliged as the match began, rushing Iori with a series of kicks. He blocked them all with ease, but his counterattack hit nothing but air. The fight went on that way for nearly a minute, him parrying her attacks as she dodged his. Then Iori took advantage of an overextension, his clawed hands drawing a thin trail of blood as they slashed across her back.

"Point," said Iori, smirking as she spun away and back into stance.

Not grinning anymore, Chun Li changed tactics, jumping at Iori with a long-legged flying kick. He took the bait and pounced, leaping into his Oniyaki uppercut...but the instant he moved, Chun Li drew back her leg, making him whiff once again. She landed first and punished him with a Kikoken, blasting him down to the ground.

"Point," she snarked back as the crowd roared.

More to come if there's enough response. ...but don't hold your breath. ;)
