Author's Note: Wow, so I haven't written a Degrassi fic in forever! I don't even think I'd be good at it anymore, lol. The other Degrassi fics that haven't been updated in like months, are more than likely terminated or discontinued or whatever because Degrassi has been taken a backseat in the writing part of my mind. I write more like bandom fics that I don't post so there really isn't a point, but I just don't have the drive to write Degrassi anymore. Okay, this was long and pointless, but I've been looking for a reason to let people know that this fanfiction account is pretty much over. I'll keep stories on here, though, incase you wanna read some old ones or I decide to write some.
This was requested by eclarelover22409 on Tumblr, so I really hope it doesn't suck too bad for you!
"Hey," Eli called from the front steps of Fiona's loft.
Imogen stopped walking down the stairs and looked at Eli. "You're still here?"
Eli shrugged. "I didn't wanna leave when everything was so up in there air, you know?"
Imogen nodded and shifted her weight to her left foot. She didn't know what to say, and Eli was speechless as well. After a few silent, awkward moments, Eli patted the cement next to him, "Wanna sit down?"
Imogen bit her lip and sat down next to him, leaving a couple inches between them.
Eli spoke first. "I really didn't know Fiona was gonna set it up without you knowing. I thought she'd at least, I don't know, talk to you first,"
"You knew, though? That she was setting up a date?"
Eli nodded.
"Why didn't you tell me? You could have asked me out. I would have been a bit more prepared... I mean... My hair and outfit," Imogen's hand fluttered all around her.
Eli laughed. "You look beautiful,"
The blood rose to Imogen's cheeks, creating a cast of scarlet. She bit her lip again and looked away.
"Anyway," Eli continued. "I couldn't directly ask you because I thought you'd say no. I mean, I hurt you so bad last year and I didn't think you'd ever forgive me. I thought if I told Fiona, she could, like, girl talk you into it,"
Imogen looked back at Eli. He smiled at her, sheepishly, glancing at her through his lashes. His green eyes were a little lighter than usual and Imogen didn't know why. She smiled back at him, though. "You could have just asked me. I forgave you for hurting me,"
"I know. I just... Okay, I really don't know what I was thinking," Eli laughed. He ran his fingers through his hair quickly. "So if I did ask you out myself, it wouldn't be no?"
"I'm ninety-nine percent sure if would be a yes," Imogen laughed.
"Then it's a date,"
"It's a date,"
Slowly, but quietly, Eli reached over and laced his fingers with Imogen's. They looked away from each other, out onto the street, but their grins stretched across their whole face.
Author's Note: Wow, that was really bad. Anyway, sorry for this nonsense. I just needed to add the "beautiful" scene in there because that's what I wanted Eli to say to Imogen. Okay. Thanks :-)
