So I heard the song "All the Small Things" by Blink 182 on the radio a couple of days ago and these two popped into my head. I haven't written in over a week, so I wanted to break my little writer's block mindset. It's short and sweet, and I totally suggest listening to the song as you read. Anyway, enjoy!

Oliver appreciated all of the small things Lilly did for him.
He knew that if he had a bad day, she somehow knew too.
As he walked up the stairs from a crappy day at the office, he'd see little love notes or maybe roses to let him know she cared. Even though he would be eager to see her, Oliver would stop to read every single note left for him. Eventually he'd make it upstairs.
Lilly would be sitting on the bed with a pint of choco chunk ice cream and two spoons. She'd kiss him soundly on the lips, smile, and motion to the spot next to her. They would eat the ice cream, giggle like a couple of teens, and then just hold each other for eternity.
He felt true care from his Lilly.
She would be at every one of his gigs. Even if it was at some crap club across town and she had work the next day or an early class, she would be there. Lilly would smile at him through the smoky fog and blinking lights. And she would wait for him until the last chord died. Lilly knew how much his music meant to him. She had spent countless sleepless nights to listen to him rant or rave about the lyrics that poured from his heart.
She understood him.
And that was not a small thing. Nevertheless, he appreciated it.
