Something To Be Said

We were falling. And when we hit the ground, the trees shook their boughs and the birds set off for the sun. Did you hear the gods cry out? Did you notice the goddesses dancing? Did you feel the tremors of anger and hate rumble in the distance?

I know you. And I have loved you for so long. Gabrielle allows the words into her heart and then they slip off of her tongue. Those things spoken before, drifting to Xena's ears and then floating out with the tide.
I know you. And I have loved you for so long. Xena captures the words with her soul and then they rest in her hands. Those things spoken before, caressing Gabrielle's face and then rushing out to sea.

We were falling. We were torn apart and put back together again. We made each other up, like a child might create stories. And we ripped the fantasy down.
We were falling.
And when we hit the ground... Everything is new. This time, everything is reborn.

I know you. Xena shouts out with her eyes. They shine brighter than any star.
And I have loved you for so long. Gabrielle proclaims with her smile. It is stronger than any storm.

And there is something to be said about forever.
In this ocean, there is something to be said about forgiveness and adoration, about pain and sorrow.
We were falling. And when we hit the ground, the world took pause and the sky split open.
We were falling... And each other's arms, we came back home again.
