It happened so fast.
One moment Sabrina was minding her business and carrying her books, and the next moment she trips over her own foot and falls nose-first to the floor.
At least, that would of happened if Star Butterfly wasn't there to catch her in time, saving her a lot of bruising to the face. Sabrina's legs wobbled underneath her as she tried to support herself, holding on tightly to Star's arms to keep herself from falling again. She looked up at Star who's face was a little too close for her comfort. But Star wore a bright smile as she calmly watched Sabrina try to stand. She glanced over at the school books she dropped.
"Are you okay?"
Sabrina realized it was Star who asked her this. She nodded as quickly as she could, her ponytail bouncing and hitting the back of her head. A shallow pink flush filled her face as she bent down to snatch her scattered books. "Yeah. I'm fine. Just clumsy..." She admitted with a sheepish grin, focusing her attention solely on her books instead of the eyes of the blonde standing directly in front of her. Having all her books, Sabrina saw Star looking at her with the same sweet smile.
"Alright. Just making sure." Star walked past her and patted her bare shoulder, sending goosebumps down her arm and a warm shiver up her spine. "Oh," She paused, remembering something, taking a step back to meet her gaze again.
"Sabrina, don't fall down the stairs like you did last Tuesday. Is your wrist feeling okay?"
Star pointed at her left wrist wrapped in a black brace. When Sabrina had fell down the stairs she twisted her hand backwards. The cheerleader rubbed the spot tenderly.
"It's doing...um, better." She said, and for some reason Sabrina felt like Star was staring at the multiple band aids covering her scratched legs; maybe it is her mind playing tricks on her.
"And I'll try not to." Sabrina turned to leave (rather awkwardly) before Star stopped her in her tracks and hooked her arm in hers. Feeling the other girl's skin against her own made Sabrina's heart race. Why is she feeling like this all of a sudden? It scared her. Sabrina slowly looked at Star, her eyes of green apple hypnotized into Star's pale blue ones for a brief moment, though it felt much longer.
"S-Star?" She stuttered, her voice shaking.
"Yeah?" Star replied in innocence.
"What are you doing?"
Star blinked at her, her tiny U of a smile dropped for a second.
"Duh. I'm walking you to class. We're going to be late." The blonde chuckled, seeing Sabrina's nervous face, "What did you think I was doing?"
Sabrina blushed, unable to answer nor look at her.
What did you think I was doing?...
Her words replayed in her mind like a broken record. The playfulness that kicked off in the her statement didn't help either.
Star just grabbed her hand and pulled her to the direction of their classroom. Sabrina peeked at Star as she hummed what sounded like a weird commercial tune.
Sabrina smiled.
She is really sweet. I wonder why Brittney still hates her guts?
