Mrs. Tran looked around curiously at the others in the hall. She sighed as a group of particularly cliquey members pushed past her to get the better seating at the front. It was like history repeating itself with all the competitiveness between high school parents.
She quickly found a seat as the medium took to the stage and silence descended on the auditorium.
"Friends! I'm thrilled to announce that I have made contact with a most powerful spirit guide! His name is Kevin..."
"That's my son," Mrs. Tran said smugly, to the people in the seats in front of her.
