WEDDING
Nothing can make a man happier than to hear the sweet "yes" on his wedding proposal from the lips of the woman he loves.
She's my childhood sweetheart, the girl I promised to marry one day. I hold no professional title, no hectares of land, no face to launch a thousand ship, but I bare a heart only true love knows
But my only dream in life has been challenge by thousands of obstacles. She fell in love more than a hundred times, and cried buckets of tears over foolish guys, excluding me. Amidst all those things, I still hoped she'll end up with me. She met a sailor named Kaname and again, fell hopelessly in love; but just like the others, I though he'll immediately disappear leaving her with a scar. True indeed with my predictions, he left her with a broken heart. I could not bear the thought of her in agony and so I asked her to marry me. Much to my surprise, she accepted my proposal. And though I knew she held no romantic feelings towards me, I somehow believe that someday, just someday, she'll learn to love me.
Wedding preparations have been made and I felt very much overwhelmed by the support given by our townsmen who from the start believed that we were meant to be. It was like a fiesta celebration for everyone was anticipating for that wedding day. I thought everything was okay. I thought.
'I HOLD NO PROFESSIONAL NAME, NO POWERE AND NO TITLE; THOSE WERE HIS ADVANTAGE.'
The church bell rung, the entourage started and the sweet sound of the piano mixed with the emanating melancholic anticipation of the crowd filled the whole church. The moment I laid my eyes upon her, was like a taste of heaven here on Earth. She looked so beautiful on that wedding dress I bought for her, that no words found on the dictionary can exactly define how I see that time. She was so innocent and true, that I was totally deceived on and through. On the altar waiting for her was no other than Kaname, whom she had married first. Yes, you've read it right. SHE'S MARRIED. They had been married the other year on the ship boarded by Kaname when it ducted on our island. But because he left her, she thought it was nulled for it was only the captain who presided it. She never told anyone till this fateful day came.
And her I am, in front of the piano, accompanying the choir as they sing songs of love for the newly wed couple.
He decided to spend the rest of his life playing the piano and serving church masses and weddings hoping one day, he'll be the next one who'll be waiting for his bride to walk on the aisle and exchange 'I dos' with the girl he'll spend the remaining days of his life.
END NOTE: credits to I'LL BE THERE.
This story really happened SOOOOOOOOOO many years ago. In order to protect the identities and hold respect to those involved, I changed the names of the characters in Vampire Knight characters (BDW, Zero is the persona of the story. HAHA. I forgot to mention.). To also satisfy the imagination of the readers, some scenes were edited, exaggerated and removed. So much to that, I still hope that you like the story and you still believe in love. ^^.
