Cloud pours himself a cup of coffee and comes to the conclusion that it's time to leave again. He doesn't say anything about his conclusion and anyone who looks at his face would be unable to realize that his thoughts are like that.
Anyone that looks at his life may even be jealous. He ran a rather successful delivery business slash bar and had on his arm a rather beautiful woman. Said beautiful woman was sitting at the other end of the bar currently, hard at work on a stack of papers.
Any other time if asked, he would say that he loves her. Until he pours himself a cup of coffee, cuts down the bitter taste with sugar and begins to think. Now he questions himself and comes to the conclusion that he should leave.
"Cloud!"
The voice is young and exuberant, filled with a sense of life that he contemplates over his coffee. Denzel sprints into the bar with Marlene close on his heels but is intercepted by Tifa.
He concentrates on his coffee and doesn't hear the conversation, but the two leave back through the front door. Cloud glances up to see Tifa smiling at him but he quickly turns away without returning the smile, sure that she didn't notice.
He really does hate coffee. Really hates what it makes him think about and the thoughts it puts into his head. He also really hates the taste.
Cloud rises to his feet, and crosses the bar, brings the cup up to his lips one last time. Tifa is looking up at him by the time he reaches her side but she says nothing.
"Yes?" She finally asks.
I'm leaving.
The last drop of coffee slides down his throat.
"I really hate coffee."
