My dream became a nightmare as quickly as it became a sweet pleasure. As I walked, time became faster. I came to a dead stop. Dmitri stared at me and shouted to Sally. But she was fading too.
"Dmitri," I whispered, "What's happening? I'm scared, Sally." All of the passerbys looked at Dmitri like he was insane. They couldn't see us, only Dmitri. It was a good thing he could lip read.
"Kameron," he whispered right back to me, "it's going to be alright, you and Sally are going to be alright." I shook my head in confusion, "Dmitri, what do you mean? Please, help me! Help Sally at least! PLEASE!"
A single tear came down Dmitri face. That didn't happen . . . it couldn't have. We don't cry, we laugh at sadness. We only cry at funerals. . . "Dmitri, please! There has to-to-to-" I started to cry as well. Dmitri looked at me with a saddened surprise. I started to hyperventilate. Dmitri started to cry harder with the shock of seeing me cry.
"Kameron. I- I cannot do anything to help you now!" He had never seen me cry, as they had thought I could never cry. I wasn't a very good public crier, and I wouldn't know. I'd never cried before in my whole life. I kept it in. All of it. I was the happy go lucky kid, the sweetly depressed "child" but I never showed it. I was sick, I was tired. I was exhausted. Crying made me feel sick, I didn't like it. I looked to Sally. Her bright blonde and blue multicolored hair was darker, and her mouth was wide open. It seems seeing me cry was too much for anyone.
"Sally- Can you- Can you hear me still?" She looked at me and nodded. "I guess that's good." I chuckled from my sobs, and looked at my shoes. "Sally . . ." time was still getting faster, and according to Dmitri's eyes and Sally herself, we were almost faded. I snapped my head and matched her deep green eyes with mine, "I will find you, and I will save you." A single tear ran down her face. I took out my staff and looked into Dmitri's green eyes. In a world of no green eyes, it seemed strange we three were the only ones alive known that wore them. "Goodbye, this will not be the last time we speak." He consumed me in a hug, and that was when I expressed my love for the first time in my life, my whole entire life. Time snapped to its original position for me and Sally.
"Goodbye Kam." Sally shouted. I caught a glance at Sally before she disappeared. Sally had blown me a kiss.
We both screamed.
I took a look at my hands. I could see my hoodie, and I could see my hand. I could see everything, but nothing could see me.
Dmitri faded right through me and collapsed onto the ground. "No, no, no, no- Sally!" he turned quickly around, but she had faded when I did. His face hardened. He straightened up and put on his cloak. As he ran back to the streets, he looked up and blew from his lips a spell, it floated into the sky. Dark green clouds swarmed and it started to rain heavily. It was a tribute, but it was also a cover. I can tell a tear from a raindrop when one hits the ground.
