Have you ever heard the saying watch your actions since they have repercussions,
If so, how many times have you followed said rule. And later on, how many time have you regretted said action.
Life is so much like a game, more so than any person dares to admit, there is the main character (you), there is a story line (your action), and lastly there is a limited amount of life (the opportunities offered to solve a problem usually of your own creation), the only difference is that there is no reset button. And there is always the fact, that no matter how many lives you have, some lessons are never learned, and the only reason is of our attachments that without realizing we created, to have a somewhat presence of continuity and normality, in our ever-changing life. Some find it in friends, others, in objects, others in culture, places, tastes, and even color; and it's because of this, that we develop a desire and yet at the same time fear, for change. We know that it's a good idea, and necessity related with the evolution of humanity, and yet it's this links this bonds than cannot be seen or touched, that makes us take a step back, while remembering all that we will by consequence leave behind.
We attach ourselves to our root without knowing, because what is to come is an unknown factor, that could bring both misery, and happiness (something that we will never know at that moment), and all we know is that what we have, is better than some of the outcomes of what we could end with.
No one knows if our decisions are right or wrong, since there is no human capable of seeing either the future (a 100%) or the what's if? In life. However after taking the first step, on the road, the second and third becomes easier, and before you realize it a new road has been opened for you to take. And usually it is then that you realize what kind of decision you have made.
