Natsu and Lucy
"Natsu, just go… I'll catch up…."
"Lucy…."
"I said go! Don't worry… I'll be fine…''
"No…. "His voice cracked, he looked at her long and hard, memorizing the way her eyes sparkled with an emotion he couldn't recognise, tears running down her face as she knew she wouldn't….
The magic from the bomb was slowly increasing becoming blindingly bright. But Natsu never looked away, wanting to be able to finally tell why he snuck into her bed all the time, why he always cared for and protected her the most… he'd fallen in love with her
Then she gave him a smile
It was the smile that always made his heart stop, every time he saw it.
"I'll see you at the guild, yeah?"
"Yeah-I'll see you there…." his voice breaking yet again. Why? Why was this happening? He beat the bastard to a pulp. The barrier should have fucking disappeared.
He got up.
"I'm losing to this thing!". Just as Natsu was about to jump at the stubborn barrier again, someone grabbed him by both arms and dragged him away. Away from the barrier. Away from her.
"LET ME GO!"
"I love you" the three words whispered so quietly, even with his dragon hearing he almost didn't catch it. He stared at her. She looked as beautiful as she always had. When he broke free and reached for her, an explosion threw him back.
