This is going to start off shit. It's an OC story, of course, it would be! Hopefully, I can get my footing while writing it.

A teenager was sitting over From Dust till Dawn. The teen was extremely pale. He had shaggy reddish-brown hair that was medium in length and was framing his face. There were wolf ears sticking out, signifying his Faunus status. His eyes were golden and slitted.

He was wearing a black long sleeve shirt with a grey combat scarf on his neck.

His left hand was also covered by a futuristic, segmented gauntlet, which had a dust cell on his wrist and had a blue dust cell with a circle on his palm.

The teen was wearing black jeans held up by a white studded belt and the outfit was finished off simple black shoes.

The teen's weapon was a roughly black rectangle with white lining. The weapon had two handles built into it with a curved blade that jutted out before returning into the blade. It also acted as a sheath with a handle sticking out.

The front of the weapon had two barrels inside of the base of the weapon with a smaller barrel above the larger one. It had an emblem of a wolf snarling the left in white paint. It was partially covered by a grey leather coat with the same emblem on a patch sewed on the right shoulder.

Volf was currently wondering what exactly was going on. 'I just wanted to sleep, but nooo! I have to deal with people yelling?" He thought angrily, wanting to know why he couldn't sleep.

He was shocked when he saw a guy in a black suit and bowler hat was launched outside of the window and landed the ground with a heavy thud. He was followed by a girl similar in age to Volf wearing gothic clothing flipping around a giant scythe and stabbing it into the ground.

Several more thugs ran out the window intent on harming and possibly killing the gothic girl. Volf was wondering what he should do. 'I have no idea about the situation, but it seems that the guys in suits were trying to steal from the store.' He thought to himself.

Volf shook his head to himself. He proceeded to put on his jacket and grabbed a pair of wire, under frame glasses that were near his weapon. He heaved his unique weapon and started to walk towards the edge of the rooftop, intent on moving away from the fighting

Volf was stopped when a guy with orange hair and in a white suit ran into him and started running the edge of the building followed by the same gothic girl.

A VTOL suddenly appeared and Roman boarded it and grabbed a red dust crystal. "End of the line red!" Roman mocked and proceded to throw it at Ruby and Volf's feet.

He took aim with his cane and launched a flare with a whistling sound and caused the dust crystal to explode, enveloping the two teens.

They were saved when a middle-aged women wearing a cape protected them from the blast. She pushed her glasses up and waved her riding crop, shooting out several purple beams.

The beams made contact with the VTOL, causing it to rock and shake. Glynda then summoned several clouds which launched several shards of ice that impaled the VTOL, damaging it a modest amount.

A woman wearing a short dress step into view, but her upper body was shrouded in darkness. The dress flared to life with dust sewn into it and the woman started to move her hands in an intricate manner, resulting in a fireball quickly moving towards Glynda.

She blocked it with a shield she summoned. The shards of the fireball began to light up. Glynda quickly moved out of the was as it went off. SHe took the rubble that the explosion caused and turned it into a crude spike and launched it at the VTOL.

The women in the dress started to fire out beams of energy, breaking off pieces of the spike. It was ineffective as the spike was deflected off the top of the VTOL as the pilot maneuvered it to take the brunt of the damage.

Glynda then forced the spike to several smaller ones that began to snake around the VTOL, ready to strike. The women then summoned several rings of runes around her and released a wave of energy that turned the snaking spikes to dust.

Ruby shifted her scythe in its rifle mode and started to fire away at the shrouded women. Volf sighed and heaved his weapon and pressed the lever to fire off his grenades.

Both attempts were ineffective as she stopped Ruby's sniper rounds with her hand and turned the grenades into dust before they had a chance of going off.

The women waved her hands and several runes appeared at their feet. All of them moved out of the way, but the teenagers were partially in the blast.

The VTOL managed to get away as they lost focus. Volf got up with a groan and dusted himself off after getting up. He turned to see that Ruby got herself up and Glynda was still standing.

He was about to leave when Glynda blocked his path. He tried to move to the side, but she cracked her riding crop before he could move to pass her. "Where do you think you're going?" She asked sternly.

Volf just rubbed the bridge of his nose with his right hand, his other holding his weapon. "Hopefully somewhere quiet as I can get some sleep." He yawned mid-explanation. "Now can I leave m'lady?" He sarcastically asked.

Glynda bent down and got into his face. "Don't take that tone with me. Now you two are going to follow me." She ordered. Volf's response heaved his weapon and raised the curved blade up.

Ruby got in between the two and looked towards the wolf Faunus. "Please don't fight. It wouldn't solve anything." She explained.

Volf sighed, rolled his eyes and set down his weapon. He turned to Glynda who was still staring at him. "So where precisely are we going?" He probed for info.

She just ignored him and turned on her heels and started to walk away. Ruby looked at Volf who just shrugged and decided to follow her with Ruby doing the same.

Ruby and Volf ended up in an interrogation chamber, stripped out of all of their weapons. They've been in there for a while with Glynda pacing around the room. Ruby was starting to get anxious before she turned to Volf who was rapidly tapping on the table, also getting anxious. "Sooo, what is your name?" She asked curiously.

Volf stopped tapping before turning to her with a raised eyebrow. "Why do you want to know?" He asked bluntly. Ruby shyly scratched her neck. "Well, I figured that there was no problem with being friendly. Sorry if I bothered you."

"Apologies if I seem standoffish." Volf apologized. "I'm not really social and I consider myself rough around the edges. But I'm Volf Nilux." He explained.

Ruby held her hand out for a handshake, which he reciprocated. "I'm Ruby Rose! Please to meet you." She chirped.

Ruby was still intrigued by Volf. "So I can see you're a Faunus." She pointed out. "So are you from Vacuo?" She awkwardly asked.

Volf shook his head. "No. I'm from Atlas actually." He stated. Ruby nodded but was wondering why he was in the city. "Why were you on the rooftop sleeping?" She wondered out loud.

Volf wasn't willing to give out his life story to some stranger. "I'll be honest. I don't want to answer your question. Sorry."

Ruby pouted at Volf but jumped in surprised when Glynda slapped her riding crop on the table to get their attention. "Sorry to interrupt your social event. But must I explain how reckless what you two did." She began.

"You two put yourselves and others in danger," Glynda explained. Ruby got extremely upset at her comments. "They started it. What else were we supposed to do!?" She yelled.

Volf just had a neutral look since he's been through similar things to this.

Glynda then stopped in front of the door. "If it were up to me, I would send you home with a pat on the back." Ruby perked up at that. "Along with a slap on the wrist." She slammed her crop onto the table to emphasize her point.

She turned her attention to Volf, who was waiting to see what she would say. "You would be in a completely different situation considering what you've done." She pulled out a scrolled with Volf's info.

Volf narrowed his eyes and frowned. "Shit." He muttered. He wasn't proud of what he did, but he had to survive somehow.

Glynda brought up Volf's general bio and criminal record. "Volf Nilux. An orphan from Mantle, Remnant. Left your Orphanage Home before dropping off the map for several months. When you resurfaced, you were found convicted of robbery and went to a juvenile hall. When you got out, you did the exact same thing you did. That happened several times. Each time you appeared somewhere else." She listed off his general history and past actions.

Ruby was looking at him with slight shock. Volf didn't seem like a criminal. But with the info out in the open, her perception was changing.

Glynda moved to put away the scroll away and walk in front of the door. "I would like to put you in an actual prison." Volf was shocked and slightly flinched. "But there is some who wants to see the two of you." She moved out of the way to show a man wearing a green scarf with greyish hair carrying a plate of cookies and a mug.

Ozpin moved forward to be closer to Ruby's face after saying both of their names. "You have silver eyes." He pointed out. Ruby looked over to Volf confused and he was in the same mood she was in.

Ozpin sat back up and looked to see Glynda had pulled out a scroll that had Ruby fighting the thugs using her scythe. "Where did you learn to do this?" He asked.

Ruby knew who she was talking to and was somewhat nervous. "Uhm... Signal Academy." She responded meekly.

"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" He questioned.

Ruby felt a bit braver when they asked. "Well, one teacher." She clarified.

Ozpin nodded and sat down the plate of cookies which Ruby hesitantly took one before shoving several into her face. Volf grabbed one and quickly finished it.

Ruby was stuffing her face with her favorite treat when Ozpin began to clarify why he asked. "It's just that I've only seen one other scythe wielder of that skill. A dusty old crow."

Ruby was partially was done eating the cookies when she started talking about her uncle. "Thwts mu umncle Qrew!" She swallowed. "That my Uncle Qrow. He's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. But know I'm all like." She started to do sound effects and moving her arms around in an animated manner.

Ozpin and Volf found a small amount of amusement out of Ruby's actions while Glynda groaned and rolled her eyes. "I've noticed." He commented.

Ozpin set down his mug and rested his body on the table. "So what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school like Signal?" He pondered.

Ruby took a deep breath before exhaling. "Well, I want to be a huntress." She revealed Ozpin nodded before commenting. "So you want to slay monsters?"

"Ya." She agreed. I only have two more years at Signal then I'm going to apply to Beacon. You see, my sister is starting there this year and she's trying to be a huntress and I want to be one to try and help people. My parents all ways taught us to help people and I figure might as well try to make a career out of it." She rambled.

She starting to get excited at talking about hunters and huntresses. "Police are alright. But hunters and huntresses are so much more romantic and excited. Ugh, you know!" She yelled in excitement.

Ozpin and Glynda shared a quick look before he turned back to Ruby. "Do you know who I am." He asked her.

"You're Professor Ozpin." She answered. "Headmaster at Beacon. "Hello," He said.

Ruby waved and introduced herself. Ozpin sat down and moved closer to Ruby. "You want to come to my school?" He asked.

Ruby nodded. "More than anything." She said with conviction.

Ozpin looked up to Glynda, who rolled her eyes and turned her head. "Well ok." He answered.

Ruby's face instantly lighted up with ecstasy and happiness at the thought of going to her dream school.

While the entire conversation was going on Volf was currently thinking' I honestly hope my stuff is still where I stashed it.' He was pulled out of his thoughts by Ruby squealing in delight.

He noticed Ozpin was staring at him and focused his attention on the Headmaster. "So why am I here? I'm usually on my way to a Juvey Hall by now." He commented/asked.

Ozpin chuckled at his question. "I would like to offer you the same offer that I gave to Miss Rose." He explained.

Volf had a raised eyebrow. "Why? I'm just an orphan who happened to be at a good place at a good time." He didn't try to think he was something bigger or better. He knows who he was and that wasn't going to change.

Ozpin laced his fingers and moved closer to the teen. "You seem to have no purpose." He explained. "I would like to give you the opportunity to do something with your life."

Glynda walked to Ozpin's right side. "If you don't accept the Headmaster's proposition. You will be sent to a 'Juve Hall' as you put it." She calmly explained.

Volf leaned back in his chair in thought. 'So take a chance at dying via Grimm, or do the entire cycle of getting sent to Juve and be let out, wander around. Know what! Screw it.' He decided.

Volf sat forward and held out his hand to Ozpin, who grasped it. "You now got a new student congrats."

Ozpin released his hand from Volf's and sat up and headed towards the door. "Follow Glynda to retrieve your items. I'll see you at the beginning of the term."

Ruby and Volf started to follow Glynda to the entrance. While in the corridor, Ruby tapped on his shoulder. "What's up, Ruby?" He turned around.

"I'm wondering why you've committed crimes?" She asked. He just rubbed his neck in anxiety. "I had to do things to survive. I'm not going to give you a sob story about how it was so harsh. That stuff happened, I got punished. That's it." He explained.

Ruby was still curious about one thing. "So will you tell me why you left Atlas? And how did you end up here?" She asked.

They ended up in the locker room of the police station. The officer behind the counter pulled out Cresent Rose and Volf's gauntlet and weapon.

Volf put on his gauntlet and flexed his hand. "That's better." He commented. He grabbed his weapon and started to walk to the door, but was stopped by Ruby. "Are you going to answer my question?" She asked.

He patted her shoulder and moved passed her. "Sorry, but I'm keeping some skeletons in the closet. I'm going to wrap that bitch in chains and plate it with steel." He joked.

Ruby pouted, but Volf was out the door. He headed towards an abandoned apartment building. The front door was locked so Volf kicked down the door.

He saw there was graffiti sprayed all over it. "Boy, does this look snappy." He sarcastically commented to himself. He made his way up to the 2nd floor and headed towards the closest apartment.

Volf pulled out a key and turned it in the lock. He found that it was abandoned and decrepit as he left it. He opened the closet to show a black duffel bag.

He threw it over his shoulder and exited the building. 'This is going to be an interesting time.' He thought to himself. 'I wonder how this is going to go?'

Break

Volf was on the airship that went to Beacon when he noticed Ruby was getting hugged by a busty blonde.

Ruby was currently being mauled by her sister, Yang when she noticed that Volf was on the same airship! She broke free of her sister's grasp and ran over to the Faunus. "Volf, you're here!" She happily exclaimed.

Yang noticed how excited Ruby was and grinned. "So who's this? A secret boyfriend, eh?" She teased. Ruby blushed and started blundering.

Volf chuckled at Yang's teasing and Ruby's reaction. "No, I'm her friend?" He said unsure. "I'm Volf by the way."

Yang leaned down towards Ruby's ear. "This one is a keeper, Rubes. Take him while you can." She whispered. Ruby just started moving her arms erratically.

Volf was weirded out by Ruby's movement but drew his attention to the news that was being played. It was about the White Fang doing something. "Great, those assholes." He commented to himself.

Yang and Ruby noticed he was watching the broadcast about the White Fang. "What are you thinking about Wolfy boy?" Yang asked.

Volf turned away from the new and waved it away. "Just how stupid and fucking moronic the White Fang is." He commented.

Ruby had a raised eyebrow at his comment. "Not to be rude or anything?" She awkwardly began. "But why are you so against the White Fang. Besides how they're terrorists?"

Volf just growled at them. "I have no personal beef with them. But I find that they give a bad name to Faunus."

The broadcast was abruptly shut off and a hologram of Glynda appeared and welcomed the students to Beacon. "Hello and welcome to Beacon. I am Glynda Goodwich and you are among the privileged few who are given the opportunity to go this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing a time of great peace and as future hunters and huntresses, it is your duty to uphold that peace." She explained.

"Each of you has demonstrated the courage necessary to do such a task. It is now our turn to give you the training and the knowledge to protect our world." She finished evenly and she disappeared.

Several students moved to see the city down below. Ruby ran up to the window with Yang and Volf trailing behind her. "Look! You can see Signal from here." She pointed out.

Volf and Yang looked and noticed she was correct. "Guess home isn't too far away," Ruby commented.

Yang grabbed her and wrapped her arm around her shoulder. "Beacon is our home now, sis," Yang stated. Volf felt awkward and started to move away from the sisters, but bumped into a blonde teen who was running towards the bathroom.

Volf just wretched at the teen puking in front of the bathroom door. 'That's a beautiful sight! Really brings the room together.' He sarcastically thought to himself.

When the airship landed, Volf walked by "Vomit Boy" as Ruby called him, puking in a trash bin. "At least you got it in somewhere." He yelled while passing him.

He was quite surprised at how spacious and elegant Beacon was up close. 'I guess this may work out.' He thought positively.

He aimlessly walked around the grounds for a while, seeing the sights. He stopped and squinted when he noticed Ruby was arguing with a girl wearing predominantly white clothing and had white hair herself. 'Well shit. She had to be here.' He told himself.

Weiss felt herself becoming infuriated by this dolt running into her, knocking her dust over, potentially causing it to combust! She noticed someone was coming from the dolt's direction.

When the figure came closer, Weiss' eyes widened before narrowing. She felt filled with rage! She pushed Ruby out of the way and got into the face of Volf, who sighed at Weiss' reaction.

"You've got some nerve coming here!" She shouted, whilst pointing at him. Volf was feeling slightly annoyed by him. "Nice to see you two Weiss. How have you been?" He sarcastically asked.

Weiss just exasperated in frustration and put her arms up."Why are you here? Last I heard, you were running from the police?!" She angrily asked.

Ruby walked over to the two feuding after getting up on the ground. "Volf, who is this and how do you know her?" She curiously questioned.

Weiss huffed and her head while Volf rolled his eyes at her action. "That Ruby is Weiss Schnee. My Ex-girlfriend and" "The heiress of the Schnee Dust Corporation." A bored tone interrupted.

All three of them turned to see a black-haired girl wearing a bow atop her head and garbed in a black and white themed outfit with purple stockings and had a jar of red dust in her hand.

Weiss grinned and held her nose high. "Glad to see someone see greatness" "Her company also is known for its horrible labor force and questionable business partners." She calmly explained.

Weiss started to stammer and grabbed the jar of dust from Blake's hand and walked off, with Ruby giggling at her reaction and Volf chuckling.

Ruby felt slight remorse at laughing at Weiss's anger. "I'll promise to make it up to you!" She yelled to the leaving heiress.

Ruby sighed at the heiress not responding. "I guess I'm not the only one having a bad day." She sulked to herself.

She perked up and tried to make conversation with Blake, but she was also walking away.

Ruby fell to the ground with Vulf looking at her. 'I guess I should console her?' He thought unsure. He didn't handle emotional situations well, usually using an annoying amount of sarcasm.

He was about to walk forward to console the upset Ruby, but Vomit Boy from the airship walked up to her. "Hey, I'm Jaune." He politely introduced himself while also holding a hand out.

Ruby grabbed it and felt herself being pulled up. "Ruby." She offered. She giggled a little when she realized who it was. "Aren't you the guy that threw up on the ship?" She questioned.

Jaune rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. "Yeah. Is that your friend over there?" He asked whilst pointing to Volf, who was thinking about what team he would be assigned.

'I don't know the way they set up the teams, so it's kinda useless to predict it.' He was shaken out his thoughts when he saw Ruby was jumping up and down and waving in his direction.

He walked over to Ruby and Jaune. Ruby turned to Jaune with a mischievous grin. "So Jaune, why did you throw up on the airship?" She asked grinning.

Jaune groaned and Rose laughed while Volf grinned.

"All I'm saying is that motion sickness is more common then most people think," Jaune exclaimed.

"Sorry." Ruby apologized. "It was the first thing that I came to my mind." She explained.

"I say it fits you pretty well, Jaune. Maybe change your name to it?" Volf joked. Jaune got upset at Volf's teasing. "No! The names Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, and rolls off the tongue. Ladies love it." He finished off in a confident tone.

Ruby and Volf gave him unbelieving looks. "Do they really?" Ruby asked. "They will!" He stammered. "At least I hope they will. My mom always said, never mind." He cut himself off.

Ruby quietly laughed. "Well... I got this thing." She pulled out Cresent Rose and slammed it into the ground, causing Jaune to jump.

He noticed what she was holding exactly. "Is that a scythe?" He asked unsure.

Ruby nodded. "It's also a high impact sniper rifle." She listed happily. Jaune just gave her a blank stare. "Is it bolt action or semi-automatic?" Volf asked curiously.

Ruby quickly turned to him with a large smile. "It's bolt action. Do you know weapons too?" She asked excitedly. Volf nodded and held out his weapon, which he had been carrying by hand the entire time. "I know a decent amount. Needed to in order to create this thing. He explained.

Ruby and Jaune both came closer to see what exactly the weapon was. The could see it had a black finish with white trim and an emblem of a snarling wolf. There was also a handle for a sword inserted on one side with two barrels hidden in the casing. It also had a large, curved blade on the bottom.

Ruby started to examine it, becoming very engrossed in it. "What is it exactly?" She asked unsure as Volf wouldn't let her hold it.

"It's a grenade launcher and a shotgun. It also doubles as a melee weapon and acts as a sheath for my sword." He explained as he pulled out on the handle, revealing it to be a falchion.

"It can also shift into an actual shotgun," Volf revealed as he pulled on the lower handle, causing it to form a grip of a gun. The trigger also moved to a more normal spot. The blade also shifted to the side, revealing a tube feed for shells.

The end result was an angular, pump action shotgun with a blade sticking out of the right side. Volf replaced his falchion, with the handle acting as a stock.

Jaune was lost about what was happening, but Ruby had sparkling eyes and was in awe. "That's so cool! What is its name? My sweetheart is named Cresent Rose." She rubbed her weapon affectionately on her cheek.

Volf hummed. "I don't really have a name for it. I guess I'll call it Shades of Oblivion, I guess." He thought out loud.

Ruby turned to Jaune. "So what do got, Jaune?" She asked interested in his weaponry.

Jaune nervously pulled out a simplistic sword. "I've got this." As he held the sword up. Ruby ooohed at it with mild interest. Jaune pulled out the sheath as well. "I've also got a shield." He explained as the sheath expanded into its shield form.

Ruby looked at them. "Do they do anything?" She curiously asked while poking the shield, causing it to retract. Jaune started to stumble to catch it, causing Volf to smirk.

Jaune finally grabbed it and held it. "The shield get's smaller, so when I get tired of carrying it, I can just put it away." He stammered.

Ruby gave him a confused look. "Wouldn't it still weigh the same?" Jaune looked away sheepishly. "Ya, it would." He agreed as he put away Crocea Mors.

Ruby laughed nervously. "Well, I'm kinda dork when it comes to weapons. I did go overboard when designing it." She admitted.

Volf was impressed by Ruby's skills. Not every day you meet a weapon nut. Jaune was surprised by Ruby's skill. "You made that!?" He loudly asked.

Ruby nodded. "Up. Every student at Signal makes their own weapon. Didn't you?"

"It's a hand-me-down" Jaune clarified. "My Great-Great-grandfather used it during a war." He told her.

"Looks like a family heirloom to me." Ruby awkwardly voiced. "I like it. I find that most people don't have an appreciation for the classics."

Jaune laughed slightly at her opinion. "Ya, the classics." He said softly as he put his sword in its sheath.

Volf looked at Jaune's weapon. "I could probably help you update it. Make it better." He mused. Jaune looked at him with a suspicious look. "Why are you offering to help me?"

Volf just shrugged. "No use letting you die because of outdated equipment" He bluntly argued. "I could probably add a crossbow or something to the shield. Give you better range." He thought out loud.

Jaune just shook his head. "No thanks. I don't want to mess with my Great-Great-grandfather's legacy." He explained.

Volf put his arms up. "Whatever. If you change your mind, come and see me." He then realized something." Where are we even going?" He asked no one in particular.

"I was following Ruby," Jaune revealed. Ruby stammered at them. "I was following you Volf!" She dramatically said while pointing at said wolf Faunus.

Volf raised his eyebrow at Ruby's dramatic flair. "Ok? I guess we should just wander around and hope we luck out."

Not having any other idea, Jaune and Ruby nodded and followed Volf's fleeting form.

The trio managed to find where everyone was congregating. They saw Yang was weaving at them. "Ruby! Wolfy! I saved you two a seat." She yelled.

Ruby turned to Jaune." Hey, I got to go, I'll catch up with you later. Bye!" She explained and ran off, with Volf lazily waved to him and followed Ruby to Yang.

When they got to the busty blonde, she was grinning at them. "So did the lovebirds' first day go well?" She teased.

Ruby blushed and started stammering. "We had some trouble with people," Volf explained

Ruby nodded in agreement. "I tripped over some bossy girl's luggage. And when I apologized she, just yelled at me! She just got madder when Volf showed up. I felt bad about tripping over her stuff, and I just wanted her to stop yelling at us." She explained/rambled.

"You two!" A familiar voice cried out. Ruby jumped into Yang's arms and Volf jumped. "Oh God, it's happening again!" Ruby cried out.

Volf ran his hand through his hair. "Nice to see you again Weiss. Are you calmed down?" He asked. Weiss attempted to slap him, but he moved out of the way. "You have no right to talk. You left me and took something of great value!" She yelled.

Ruby and Yang were uncomfortable and decided to try and break the tension. "Listen, I think you and my sister got off on the wrong foot. And what did Volf do to you?" Yang asked.

Weiss narrowed her eyes at her. "That filthy Faunus led me on and stole my mother's locket!" She angrily explained. "And your dolt of a sister nearly caused an explosion that could have launched off the cliff!"

Yang cringed at her yelling. "Maybe you could try starting over?" She offered. Ruby walked up to Weiss with an open hand. "Hi there Weiss. I'm Ruby. Do you want to hang out? We could go shopping for school supplies."

Weiss' face gave a fake smile. "We can also paint our nails and tell each other our crushes!" She sarcastically told her. "Like tall, blonde, and scraggily there!" She thumbed Jaune who was in the background. "Or the cute doggy sitting next to us!" She then pointed to Volf.

Ruby face lit up in glee. "Really?" She asked. Weiss gave her a deadpan stare. "No." She bluntly replied.

Everyone slightly jumped when they heard feedback from the speakers. They turned to see Ozpin was on the stage in front of the microphone and Gylnda was off to the side.

"I'll be brief with this." Ozpin began. "You have all traveled here to hone your craft, gain knowledge, and learn new skills in order to one day graduate and dedicate yourself to protect the people. But all I see here is wasted energy. You all assume that knowledge will free you from this, but knowledge will only take you so far. You must be the ones to take the first step."

Ozpin walked off stage and Glynda stepped forward to the mic. "You will all bunk in the ballroom this evening. Your initiation will start tomorrow, be ready. You are all dismissed." Glynda then walked off the stage as Ozpin did before.

Volf had a weird feeling when Ozpin talked. "He seemed kinda off," Yang noted. "Like he wasn't really here." Ruby continued.

Volf nodded in agreement. "I don't really have a great feeling about him." He voiced.

Weiss was startled when Jaune suddenly appeared. "I'm a natural blonde, you know." He 'charmingly' said. Weiss just rolled her eyes and walked away from him.

It was night and everyone was gathered in the ballroom and Volf was sharpening Oblivion's curved blade with a whetstone that was in his duffel bag.

He changed out of his regular clothes and was wearing a black v-neck and black shorts. Ruby was laying down and writing on a piece of paper. "It's like a big slumber party!" Yang exclaimed while on her way to the ground.

"Don't think dad would approve of all the boys." Ruby pointed out while still writing. "I sure approve of the boys." Yang purred. "And what about Volf, hasn't he caught your eye?"

Ruby looked up to see Volf had finished up sharpening his weapon's blade. "I don't know. I liked him starting off. But with him taking something from Weiss, I don't know anymore." She explained.

Yang put her finger on her lip, before snapping it. "Hey, Volf!" She called out to the teen who had begun stashing Oblivion under his pillow. He turned around and sat next near them. "What exactly do you want?" He asked slightly drowsy.

"Well, Ice Queen mentioned that you took a locket of hers. What was that about?" Yang semi-sarcastically asked.

Volf breathed through his nose before answering. "Let me get one thing straight. All right?" The sister's nodded with Ruby looking up from her letter. "I didn't know that was her mother's. I thought it was just some expensive thing she had." He explained.

"But Weiss said you led her on? What does she mean?" Ruby asked, now sitting up. "I was dating her and I used her to scope out her home. She's quite rebellious and what's more rebellious then having a secret relationship with a criminal. The relationship kinda went down the shitter when I grabbed that locket. And I probably helped cause her hatred of Faunus." He bluntly admitted.

Yang's eyes narrowed and flashed red. "Listen, you mess with me or my sis and you're not going to live. Got it?" She threatened.

Ruby looked on as Volf put his hands up. "I won't. Me being a thief is done. I just did it to survive. Not easy being an orphan on the street. Now good night you two." He moved over to his sleeping bag and drifted off to sleep.

Hope this goes well. Volf means wolf and Nilux is a latin portmanteau of 'nigreos', which means Black and 'lux' which is light.

I'm kinda stuck between having Volf be on his own team or join Team RWBY. I'm probably going to make his own team with him as the leader.

Volf's weapon, Shades of Oblivion is a mixture between the Brute Shot from Halo, a regular pump shotgun, and a falchion.

The gauntlet is based on a DeviantArt post I found. It will be linked in my profile.
