Dream- Priscilla Ahn

Sarah sighed as she wondered what she had been like if she had been more like a regular girl.

I was a little girl alone in my little world who dreamed of a little home for me.

Her mind shifted to wondering if she would do the same things, think the same things.

I played pretend between the trees, and fed my houseguests bark and leaves, and laughed in my pretty bed of green.

She wondered if she would see her surroundings the same way she could see them now.

I had a dream
That I could fly from the highest swing.
I had a dream.

Maybe her goals would have been different, maybe not. She could have been a model, an actress, a teacher.

Long walks in the dark through woods grown behind the park, I asked God who I'm supposed to be.

She asked herself if she had chosen the right path. She didn't need to be like this.

The stars smiled down on me, God answered in silent reverie. I said a prayer and fell asleep.

Was the bed she slept in to be different if she had chosen a different path? Would it hold the same two people that it would hold now?

I had a dream
That I could fly from the highest tree.
I had a dream.

Sarah took a deep breath and stepped down the aisle. She pushed the doubts out of her head.

Now I'm old and feeling grey. I don't know what's left to say about this life I'm willing to leave.

But even though she tried, they crept back in by the second step. Would she regret this when she was old, wrinkly and gray?

I lived it full and I lived it well, there's many tales I've lived to tell.

She stepped on, her arm in loop with her father's, and told herself that she was making the right decision.

I'm ready now, I'm ready now,

No. She would not regret it. Because when she became old and gray, she knew that she would be sitting next to someone just as old and just as gray. They would gaze out from their porch steps to a big open field full of wonderful, kind, grandchildren.

I'm ready now to fly from the highest wing.

As soon as she got up to the altar, her doubts faded away. She looked into the eyes of her soon-to-be husband. She would soon be Mrs. Eliot Murtaugh. And just the thought of that made her smile. She felt beautiful in her white dress, and there were no more doubts that lurked around in her head.

"I do," Eliot whispered.

"I do," Sarah whispered back.

And they softly kissed.

I had a dream

Just like that, kismet happens.

The song was stuck in my head for a while, so i guess I made some sort of use for it. Review :)
