Their relationship was like an hourglass. Izaya was almost always on top of it all, always pouring the red sands of time down upon Shizuo's head. Putting hurtle after hurtle in front of the blond beast, anything at all, from gangs to practical jokes. After all, to the brunette, this was entertainment, this was his escape from boredom.

All the while Shizuo would just take it, and let the pain fuel his rage, fuel his intentions for revenge. With all that sand in his eyes, the blond would oftenforget to see the details, to see what was really going on. He was to blind, to god damned ignorant, to realise that if he'd stop trying to climb to the surface and use his strength to hit the sides, that the glass would turn over and shatter.

And time would stop. Caught forever in a moment, yet still replaying over and over again. Betrayal, hurt, sadness, even if time stopped you'd still feel. You'd feel your very last emotions, your very last thoughts. They've always said that nothing lasts forever, but if this is in fact true, then will forever never last? Even if you're already gone, and you're watching the world with blank soullesseyes? Even if you're buried six feet under and can no longer cry? Even when your soul has long been broken?
