Yoruichi lazily wiped the sleep out of her eyes and planted her feet on the cold stone floor.
It was getting harder and harder to convince herself that getting out of bed was the best option for the day.
Her resolve was always weakest when she had to accept her dreams were just that, dreams.
As she shuffled sleepily over to the curtains in her room to let the morning light stream in, she glanced a piece of parchment that had been slipped under the door.
The note was hastily written 'Miss Loire, please make your way to Momodi at your earliest convenience, she has an errand'
Yoruichi closed her eyes and sighed in disbelief. In exchange for somewhere to rest in the evenings Momodi had convinced her to fulfill some small tasks.
Unfortunatley the tasks never seemed to end, one after the other Momodi would request these small favours, fetch this, kill that, send this, talk to them.
Yoruichi had been trained under the leader of the immortal flames, she was a gladiator at heart but her good nature would not allow her to say no to being an errand girl.
The torn garments from the previous nights fighting were strewn across the floor.
As she picked up her hempen undergarments last evenings memories returned to her mind. It had been an unimaginable battle against the primal Ifrit, many times she thought she would not see the light of Ul'Dahs morning again, half of her companions had not returned that night.
She hastily finished dressing and made her way to the crowded inn reception, over the heads of other sellswords she spotted Momodi giving directions to a Hyur couple looking for the miners guild.
As she approached the desk Momodi lit up and waved at her enthusiastically. Before Yoruichi could get a word in edgeways the charming Lalafell was bombarding her with information on a cactuar infestation in Black brush station.
The sun was high in the sky before Momodi had finished listing all the jobs she wanted completed. Before Yoruichi could speak a farewell, the innkeep had moved on to booking in a large Roegadyn visiting from Limsa Lominsa. She turned away and pushed through the bustling crowd towards the rear entrance of the inn. The streets beyond were full of people shopping, talking, even dancing. As she turned towards the main gate of town she looked to the sky and wondered what other fights were awaiting for her.
