To say Shepard was exhausted was an understatement. They had only recently gotten back from the mission to find Leviathan and after being on the bottom floor of an ocean in an old mech and almost dieing, she was ready to get some sleep. She had just gotten into her pajamas when the door to her cabin suddenly flew open. She turned in surprise and mild and anger to see Garrus enter the room. "Shepard. We need to talk about today." He stated abruptly. "You can come in by the the way." Shepard said with sarcasm in her voice. "Shepard, I'm serious. I need to talk to you about this." Shepard sighed. "About what? Everything ended up fine. I got Leviathan on our side. Whats to talk about?" In record time, Garrus crossed the room and threw his arms around her. Her eyes widened in shock. He was visibly shaking.
"Garrus?" She asked. It took a moment for him to speak but then he did his voice was quiet. "I was so scared." he finally said. He clutched her hair in his claws. "I..." She began. "I'm so sorry Garrus. I was so focused on the mission I never considered how you felt." He released her then but touched her forehead with his own and closed his eyes. "I'm used to you doing crazy things on missions, Shepard. But this was different. I've never been so afraid in my life. I honestly thought I would lose you. I've realized how much I need you." She pulled his hand and sat him on the bed. "Shhhhh..." She wispered. She cupped her hands on either side of his face. "I love you so much, Shepard." She smiled at him. "That's the first time you've said it." She told him. "I-is it?" He clicked his mandibles. "I'm sorry for that. I truly do." He leaned down and pressed his lips against hers. "Please don't do that again." He pleaded. Shepard nodded and laughed lightly. "Deal."
