Journey's End: Drabble
A/N: Written shortly after Journey's End, first thing I ever published (on livejournal). Constructive Criticism is welcome, please review so I can improve on my skills. Thankyou in advance.
He walked slowly down the hall, his heavy footsteps echoing. It'd been three hours since he'd left Donna at home; he was shivering under his wet shirt but didn't even think to change it. He stood outside her bedroom door, just staring. He felt tears building up and he had to leave so he kept on walking.
She didn't even know me.
He thought, She'll have forgotten me again in a few seconds, I'm just some random stranger as far as she knows; no one special.
His thoughts threatened to get darker but then he realised where his feet had been leading him; at the end of the hall, not five metres from where he was standing was a door with a carved rose bud in the centre. The years sped down his cheeks as he remembered on the beach how she kissed him and not – and not who? They were the same person really but, he got to kiss her, feel her beautifully red lips under his, he got to tell her his feelings, let her know everything she'd wanted to know. Someone else was living the life he wanted with the girl he loved most; and it hurt.
