It's a cold night in the Burr household. Theodosia is visiting her grandparents with her mother. No one is in the house.
No one except for him and Eliza.
They lay in bed together, forgetting about their vows of marriage, and Eliza crys.
"It's okay, Eliza, Mariah is a filthy whore. She can run off with Alexander. We have each other."
They kiss and forget.
The night passes. Burr and Eliza. Eliza and Burr.
Payback is so sweet.
The next day, Burr staggers out of bed, leaving behind a naked Eliza. He continues his workday with no guilt. Damn, that Eliza is great. She's rich, sexy, and now she's mine. But later that night, the boys are in the pub, celebrating Eliza and Alexander. Alexander knows nothing except for his own very numerous affairs. He knows nothing of Eliza and Burr.
Burr arrives late. We can just say the day was eventful for him, and Eliza was never off of his mind. What if Hamilton found out?
He stumbles in, and Hercules Mulligan immediately asks, "Hey Burr, where's that special someone?"
"I'm sorry, whom?"
"Well I've heard you've got a special someone on your side, Burr."
"No."
"Whatchu tryin' to hide, Burr?"
"No. I should go."
"No. They should go," says Hamilton.
"What?"
"No!"
"Leave us alone," insists Hamilton, "It's alright, Burr, I wish you brought this girl with you tonight, Burr."
"I'm afraid it's unlawful. She's married."
"Ah. I see."
"She's married to you."
"Oh shit."
