THIS ONE IS FOR SILVERHUNTRESSES.

No one knows what really happened. No one ever asks. No one would ever believe that Octavian ever had a friend. And the last place they'd look was where he found one, of course. After all Octavian had done, who would expect that he'd find love there, of all places? It was practically unthinkable. And yet. It was true.

Octavian was in love with a stuffed toy.

Though he mercilessly slaughtered numerous specimens there was one toy he could not bear to get rid of, toy he'd been given as a young child before being shipped off to Camp Jupiter. Augustus the raccoon.

The little toy had gone everywhere with him as a child, he would carefully carry it around and wash it when it got too dirty. It never got torn, never got damaged in anyway because Octavian was very careful with it. He had to be careful and hide it though, he only brought it out at night to sleep with, and whenever he went on a trip he would pack it because he didn't trust the first cohort. They'd make fun of it, or worse, slaughter it themselves. He wouldn't be able to handle life without his beloved children's toy. He would be perfectly depressed if the only sign his parent's loved him was destroyed.

No one would believe it if they found out about Octavian's love of the toy. People like Jason and Percy would leap at the chance to use it as blackmail. He'd be taunted by everyone, no one would ever take him seriously ever again. He would love to get rid of it, it weighed him down and he'd be mortified if he was caught with it. But at the same time he knew life without it would be much worse than people finding out about it. If it meant he could keep the keepsake forever he would gladly declare his love of Augustus to the whole world.

But for now he'd keep it a secret. He'd snuggle with it at night, and make up stories about Augustus and Augustus's personality while he slay teddy bears. He was always careful not to slay any raccoons though. That would be a betrayal to his toy and only friend, to slay Augustus's brethren would be like to murder your best friend's family. It was simply something Octavian could not do.

He was in love with a stuffed toy.

A small, otherwise insignificant toy raccoon that would be meaningless if Octavian didn't need it to find meaning in his own life.

If you read this story and like it then include Augustus in your own stories and tell me about it! He is free for all to use, just because I made him up doesn't mean other Octavian fangirls shouldn't get to use him! Also, in case you're wondering, Augustus has appeared in ALL my Octavian fics, so if you want more of him, well you know where to look. All of them except Let us rule together. I kinda forgot him there. Also, who was expecting this to be Octachel? Raise your hands!
