"JACOB! I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE!" I screamed at the 7 foot, tanned, very muscular man in front of me.

"You are a total slob, you don't clean shit up, and now I find out through my best friend that you cheated on me. It's over. For good this time. I'm done. Goodbye Jacob."

I picked my suitcase up off the ground and started down the steps. "I will be by sometime to pick up the rest of my stuff and drop off my key. I'm leaving town on Monday."

And with that I left. In three days I was heading to the other side of the country. Out to South Carolina. Away from Forks, away from Jacob. A fresh start.

Chapter 1

I had forgotten what constant sun and clear skies were like. Forks did that to you.

I went back to the apartment Sunday night. I knew Jacob would be at Seth's watching some game or something.

I did just what I told him I was doing. I packed the rest of my things, mainly books and music and the rest of my clothes, in boxes.

I took everything, packed it in my truck, left my key and started the week long drive across the country.

So here I was, day 2, in Phoenix Arizona. I was here visiting my dad. He had moved here a few years later to be close to his siblings. I pulled up into his driveway preparing myself to tell him about my new plan. He knows I would be arriving this morning and he promised to be waiting. And sure enough, as soon as i put my baby blue ford truck in park he was out the door, on the front porch barreling towards the car. He pulled me into a hug as soon as i stepped out of the vehicle.

"Bella! You're here!" He yelled as he held me arms length away to look at me. "I've missed you. We have so much to talk about. Now why are you here? Where is Jake?" He asked as we made our way inside. "What's with all the boxes?"

"I've missed you too Dad. The reason i am here is because of Jake and explains the boxes. I found out some pretty horrible stuff and it really messed up our relationship. I had to end it, so i did. I packed up. I'm moving to South Carolina. Going to finish school there. I think I want to be a writer."

I stopped to gauge his reaction. I was hoping that giving him my entire plan would help but it seemed like he was stuck on one thing, 'I had to end it, so I did. I packed up. I'm moving...' he was stuck on those few facts.

"Dad?" He shook his head as if to bring himself back into this moment.

"So what do you think?" I asked.

"What do you mean 'horrible stuff' and why did it make you leave?" We were now in the kitchen and I absentmindedly started cooking lunch.

"Angela walked in on Jacob and another woman. He cheated on me dad. I had to get out. He had finally pushed me off the edge."

Charlie's reaction was much different than I expected. He did more than freak out. I actually believed he would be driving to Forks and killing Jacob that night. Once he calmed down, I convinced him it was okay. I told him my full plan for South Carolina. He liked the idea.

I ended up only staying until after dinner. I did have a few more stops to make and i couldn't wait to be in South Carolina.

Next was my stop in Texas to Visit my mom. She already knew what had happened and was supportive of my decision.

I spent an afternoon around the family farm and four wheeling with my cousins. My entire life seemed to be in Texas. I loved living on a farm when i was younger. I loved spending summers four wheeling through pastures, prairie surfing, and riding horses. I missed Texas.

I spent the next 2 days driving to South Carolina.

I had picked out an apartment before I left Forks. The drive was long and I couldn't wait to start my new life. Away from Forks. Away from Jacob. A clean slate across the country. And as I pulled into the apartment building parking lot, i knew it was just that. A clean slate.
