"Sometimes love isn't enough."
"That is such a whiny, clique, crappy, lame ass statement," Janet told him as she shoved another tray full of glasses into his chest.
He let out a grunt, "Hey, I didn't say it, Nick did. Don't blame me."
"Nick said it to my best friend. After all that bullshit she put up with they finally get a chance to make it right and he punks out on her and his excuse….a complete cop out. Sometimes love isn't enough. Sometimes men are assholes and should be castrated."
He winced, looked down at his own manhood before crossing to her, "Janet, I know you're upset for Hannah, and I'm sorry, but….it'll be okay. Hannah is tough, she'll get over Nick, and she's done it before. She's always had guys desperate to go out with her. As long as she isn't crazy enough to go back to Big Kat she'll get through this."
Janet sighed, "It isn't just that…"
"Then what is it Janet," he asked, sitting on the bar stool and pulling her close to him, "What's going on in that head of yours?" as he spoke his fingers pushed her hair back.
"Its just….Hannah and Nick they're like….this huge epic romance, this amazing love and….love wasn't enough for them….so…."
"So why would it be enough for us?" he asked, realization dawning.
She shrugged, "I know that we're good and we love each other but….what if we're them one day."
He sighed, "I don't know the future Janet, but….we're not Nick and Hannah, Nick's always running, from his life, from Hannah, he never deals with things. He traveled the world and he still wasn't happy, but….Janet I don't need to travel the world to know my place is with you. I was running blind my whole life and then I found you and that was it."
"So you think love is enough for us?" she asked.
"Love and trust, yeah, I think it is. I believe in you and me," he said, trying to maintain a straight face and failing miserably.
She shoved him back and moved away, "I knew it, that moment was just too perfect, you had to go and be all Latekka and ruin it."
"Oh come on, I believe in dreams again, I believe in…." as he began to sing she ran from him, covering her ears to protect them.
