All Play and No Work

"Yoh, wake up," Anna ordered. "Yoh, wake up… Yoh, wake up!" she ordered again, only this time fiercely. "Ahhh!" Yoh jumped. His eyes were open right away. He rubbed them in confusion, then realized that it was only his bossy fiancé, Anna."Oh, come on, Anna, it's only 6 in the morning…" he yawned.

"Exactly. Now, then. As usual, 50 kilometers non-stop, 250 push ups including 65 curl ups and weight lifting. If you don't finish within 2 hours, you get no dinner tonight, and you won't be getting the window seat on the plane. Now then, get started."

"But—"

"Go!" she interrupted. He quickly got up and without even changing into his exercising suit, rapidly ran right out of the room and out of the house, on his way to a smooth day of pain and torture.

Thump, thump, thump… He was running his hardest today. If tears are sweat of his heart, sweat is the tears of his body! Normally, he was effortless, but today was a special day. Today he was going to be sent off to Izumo to train with his grandpa! Of course, this situation was regardless to Anna. She still made him train at every morning's start of sunrise.

"Manta!" he called. He squinted to make sure that it was really Manta, and not the wrong person. "Let's see… Short, brown-haired, on a bike… Seems like him to me! Hey, Manta!" Manta finally noticed him.

"Yoh? Hi, it's you! You're out this early training? Even if you're leaving today?" Manta had to shout because he was still a little bit far from his best friend, Yoh.

"What about you? You usually wake up at 8 o' clock A.M. And besides, you really think that Anna-basically the devil- would really care?" they both laughed. Yoh huffed and sighed and he used this wrist weights to wipe off the sweat that was traveling to his eye. Him and Manta caught up with each other now and paced one another.

"We're at the half point now," Manta said. He wasn't tired, since he was happily circling his feet on the rusty pedals of his small, old, wrecked bike, which he bought in a garage sale for less than a gallon of milk would cost. "Wow. Gone fore 3 months… I'm really gonna miss you."

Yoh stopped for a while, not thinking for a second, and giggled, like he did in every situation possible (except when he was being ordered or scolded by Anna). But, it was natural. "Don't worry. It'll pay off. Karma, karma, karma! You pay the cost for something, and you get a reward in return. I doubt I'll come back the same. I'll become the strongest shaman in history!" he promised with a high level of confidence.
