Alphonse Elric stood, looking at his brother, his all-too-pale face constrasting against his black jacket. Edward's eyes had not opened in three days, and doctors feared the worst. After receiving a blow to the head from Envy, it seemed that Edward would not bounce back this time.

Brother:

Thank you for leading me

And filling me with hope

When all I had was gone

And it seemed I could not cope

Though we experienced

Too much for our young age

The price we paid for knowledge

Was less than we attained

The simple laws of alchemy

That took my body from me

It seems they're not so simple

And there is not equality

When we began to study

And gained our ability together

I began to wonder

If this would be our life forever

As time kept moving on

We discovered complications

The lifestyle we had learned

Was one that divided nations

Was our quest for good or evil?

I began to have some doubts

But then, brother, you taught me

What alchemy is all about

It doesn't matter who you are

Or even what you believe in

But if you know the value of life

You will always be forgiven

The past is gone now, brother

The wrongs we did are past

And the happiness we found

Well, I hoped that it would last

But it seems that was not meant to be

And you will never wake

And now that you are gone

My heart will feel a constant ache

I owe my life to you

Without you I would not be

And so here I give my thanks

For you, so skilled in alchemy

I hope that we will meet again

In a world far across the sky

But for now, my dear brother

I'm wishing you good-bye

Alphonse watched as his brother opened his eyes.

"I didn't know you could do poetry. Thanks. I'll see you later," said Edward.

Then he closed his eyes and died.

A/N: I swear I was tearing up as I wrote this. I'm usually not that great with poetry but this seemed to flow really easily. I hate killing off Ed. He's so awesome. I am learning to play "Brothers" on the piano, and I was practicing right before this. So maybe that was my inspiration... Anyways if you liked this, read my other story, Two Eds are better than one.
