Pyne had never liked though Aperture Science made her hate it even more, it was her mom that started the whole until the point when she turned 6 and wandered into the shed that led you to Aperture, her mother always bought her the worst cakes. Disgusting, sugary store bought cakes with neon yellow and pink frosting, failed Angel's Food cakes, even red velvet cupcakes that burned to a crisp- all of them ruined the joy of cake for Pyne. And Aperture Science didn't help one bit."Pyne, it is time to wake up.""Shut up, core. I know.""I was only trying to assist you, Pyne.""Ass Core. I am about to throw you out the window. Shut it." Somehow the Assistance Core GLaDoS had drilled to her floor made her want to jump out the window herself. Yawning, she got up and ran her fingers through her hair. She was always dressed for work, no matter what. Every day, everything looked the same; Same clothing (white Aperture tank top and orange shorts), same bed (air matress with an old green blanket), same everything. For once, Pyne wanted something different."Pyne? I forgot to remind you, but someone dropped off a cake of some sort. He said something about a birthday..""A birthday? Oh, I forgot what that was..." Pyne looked around. "Where is it?"The core nodded its head toward the small table, which held an even smaller cake with white frosting. Pyne slowly made her way toward her cake and looked at the writing on top. "I hope your birthday is fiery and hot!" "Wait... what the..." Pyne said, looking at the knife beside the plate. She grabbed it And the second the blade cut into the cake, all Pyne could hear was the sound of her small room exploding. She was thrown back, the pain in her left arm and right leg blinding. Blood pooled on the ground, and she breathed in short gasps. She wasn't in her room anymore. She wasn't even in Aperture Science.
