He had given them all up. They all had given him up. The small child who was nice and shy, a shadow to his brother was no longer. They all accepted his death. Even himself. He changed. He was sure he did, so no one should care for him anylonger.
He didn't care about the others after all as well, so it didn't bother him much. And fighting with people who you saw as nothing but enemies, and those only saw you as their enemies was easy. Objective. A normal hero-villian situation.
He was chaos. He was meant to create chaos. It was his destiny, and not to forget what he had wanted. Chaos meant something, it was something people would never forget. Would never forget him. The new him. He was only there to fight. To be cold. Heartless. Smart. He was there to be the chaos.
He no longer was the little brother anymore, in fact he never was. So why did Thor struggle to keep him by his side. Refusing to kill him and ending up hurt himself. Why was Thor this stubborn over something that was no longer? Someone that was no longer.
And still. Thor insisted on sparing Loki's life. On many occaisions. No matter what Loki did, Thor would defend him, somehow. In his own way.
No matter what Loki did, to Thor he always was his brother. His little brother. Why was it, that Thor couldnt forget? Give him up like everyone else did?
But Thor was not like everyone else. He was the only person in the universe to be dumb enough to still care. At first Loki was sure, that if he pushed it too far, Thor would finally let him go.
"Why?"
"You're my brother. Always and forever."
And there it was. Again. Why couldn't he let go? Why wouldn't he? It was annoying, and not only to Loki, it annoyed a lot of people, especially those that wanted to get rid of Loki. He was the villian after all. No matter what he did, no matter how far he pushed, when Loki fell, Thor grabbed his hand pulling him back.
Always and forever
Maybe. Just maybe. He doesn't want him to let go after all.
