England really hated himself.
You want to know why?
I'll tell you why.
But first guess why he might hate himself.
He hates himself because he has tried so hard
Oh so hard
To keep Canada hidden from the real world.
From all the dangers that the world holds.
But Arthur does not seem to remember that Matthew grew up with him and Francis who were constantly at war. Matthew also grew up with and lives right next to America. The superpower who would bomb anyone.
England seems to think Canada is still the sweet fragile boy who hates his guts for taking him away from France.
England realizes he has tried to hard when he goes over one day to Matthews and Matthew is walking around shirtless. He see's a scar over his boys chest and many covering his back. England reaches forward when Canada's back is to him and traces one of the larger scar's with his index finger.
"England...?" Matthew turns his head as far as he can to see the other.
"You shouldn't have these..." He stats calmly. Canada looks at him confused.
"I've done so much to keep you without these type of scars...I've tried so hard...I've tried to keep you protected." England's voice soon seems to sound strained. Canada turns around and looks at the older nation in the eye and smiles with pity clear in his eyes.
"Thats the thing Arthur...I'm a independant nation, no longer a colony of the British Empire, nor am I New France, I'm not Vinland either...I will have scars just like you, America, France, China, Russia, every country." England looks like he wants to disagee but cant get himself to because its true.
England hates himself because he tries to hard.
He tried to hard to keep America as his colony.
He tries to hard.
Period.
"Now I'll go put on a shirt and we'll go do something in town...America texted me saying he is coming over and I dont want to talk to him after he called me a moose licker last night over the phone..." England gave his old colony a confused look.
"'Moose licker'?"
Canada shrugged.
"You raised him."
