This is a little drabble I wrote for my friend Angie a few years back. I liked it, so I decided to put it up here.
They'd woken up early in hopes of watching the sun rise. Michiru had made breakfast and Haruka had set up the table and chairs on the balcony.
They'd woken up to the pattering of rain instead.
"Of all the things," Michiru sighed as she brought the plates back to the kitchen and Haruka brought in the wet furniture.
"I'm sorry. I know how much you were looking forward to this," Haruka said. "I hope you aren't too disappointed."
Michiru smiled, wiping the furniture down with a towel and setting the table.
"Of course not," she said. "I'm with you, aren't I?"
They kissed briefly, then sat down to eat their breakfast. Listening to the rhythm of the raindrops beating against the windows.
