"Gutenmorgen, gutenmorgen, gutenmorgen, sonne und shine!" exclaimed a
clearly hyper Hermione Granger as she drew the curtains appart.
At age 28, she still had the body of a teenager, being short and skinny, in a word looking frail. Her hair hadn't lost its bushiness after all these years, she kept it in a low ponytail, a few strands always escaping and hanging in front of her eyes, now framed by glasses.
Her cheerfulness was answered by a grown underneath the covers of the bed. She sat on the side and proceeded to wait a few seconds before finally saying:
"Son, get up, you wouldn't want to miss the train, now, would you?"
A muffled voice replied in yawn: "wha time is't?"
"It's already past 7, and you have to eat some breakfast, you've got a big day ahead of you! First year at Hogwarts, I'm so proud!" she said, smiling.
The lump underneath the covers sat up and pulled the fabric off itself, revealing a young boy of around 11, with messy dirty blonde hair.
"So I have 1 chance out of 4 to end up having you as my head of house, will someone up there be merciful of me?" he grinned before ducking as his mother hit him lightly with a pillow.
After McGonagall's retirement 5 years ago, Hermione had taken over the position of Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
"Watch out what you say, boy, or I have some baby pictures of SOMEONE that could start travelling around the school..." Hermione started, a mischevious look passing in her eyes.
The boy looked horrified at this statement.
"You wouldn't!"
Hermione got up and making her way to the door, simply said:
"Just get ready and I might accidently on purpose, forget those. And take that terrible thing you call a broom, Jude"
She walked out and closed the door.
Jude Granger slowly started to ger ready, his thoughts half at his new school already.
Meanwhile, Hermione was drinking some coffee at the breakfast table, deep in thoughts. Thoughts about her son entering this school she had spent the best years of her life in. Thoughts about the new headmaster Severus Snape and who might replace him as Potion's teacher. Thoughts focused also on the past.
--------flasback--------
Halfway through seventh year at Hogwarts for the Golden Trio now a Duo. End of the Dark Days that saw the victory of the Order of the Phoenix and the death of Lord Voldemort and most of his followers.
"The war made us do thing we didn't want to be doing, Granger, it meant nothing, right?"
Looking straight at the figure of Draco Malfoy, she remembered that one night.
"It's not like I wanted anything to do with you either, Malfoy. You're off to marry Parkinson, I can't help feeling sorry for you about that, by the way. And I'm going to make my life with Viktor. See you around, Malfoy" she spat.
--------end of flashback--------
Hermione's throat tightened as she remembered Viktor, who had died on a mission tracking resisting Death Eaters after the War. The wedding never took place, and the once famous Quidditch player never knew his son.
These painful memories were wiped off as Jude arrived at the table, pouring himself some cereal into a bowl.
"Promise me not to put yourself in any kind of trouble, okay?" she asked, worried as a mother could be.
Jude sighed, rolling his eyes. Taking a child's voice, he said:
"Yes, mom, I promise..."
He stuck his tongue out at her. "Are you taking the train too?" he questionned on a more serious tone.
"No, Harry will drop us off there and I'll apparate in Hogsmeade afterwards. I'll see you at the sorting ceremony tonight."
Harry Potter, great hero of the Dark Days was named Ministery of Magic shortly after the end of the War and had been ever since. His best friend Ron had unfortunatly died during those days, as well as Charlie, George and Arthur Weasley. A statue in the memory of those lost against Voldemort's army had been built in Diagon Alley.
Ginny Weasley was now Ginny Finnigan, she had married Seamus 7 years ago and was now the proud mother of Artie, an energetic 5 years old, sometimes too energetic; and of Georgia, a cute 2 years old. Another one was 3 months on the way.

As she arrived in the teacher's lounge in Hogwarts for the beginning of the year reunion, Hermione was terribly excited, she had missed teaching over the summer, and tomorrow, she would be at it again for a whole 10 months!
"Severus, it's good to see you. Or should I call you Headmaster now?" she smiled as she greeted her old Potion's teacher.
After 5 years of working together as teachers, they had come around to get to know each other better, and had been good friends ever since.
"Good day to you too, Hermione. Worried, are you?" he smirked a little, though gently.
She bit her lip and nodded. Worried about what house her son will be in. Worried about her son, for short.
"I'll handle it. Professor Flitwick! I've been dying to talk to you about this new charm I heard off..." she engaged a probably terribly long (and boring) conversation with her short co-worker.
Everyone was sitting at the table and Hermione did not notice Draco Malfoy sitting right in front of her.
Severus Snape coughed rather loudly, which got the attention of all the teachers around, who vividly turned their heads towards their new Headmaster.
"I would first like to introduce you to the person taking over the position as Potion's teacher and Head of Slytherin house, Draco Malfoy..." the said man stood up and bowed slightly, before sitting down again, "also, as Mr. Filch asked me to inform you of..." Snape went on.
Hermione was indeed startled at the news of her old enemy being now her new co-worker. She locked her eyes into his and smiled sweetly at him. He was stepping on her battle ground now, and he would lose some toes if those old teenager grudges hadn't died along with their pimples.
After an endless discussion on a new set of charms being put around Hogsmeade, the teachers were free to go to the Great Hall, as the beginning of the year feast was about to start.
As Hermione walked to get there, an old schoolmate locked his pace with hers.
"Hello there, Granger, it's been quite a long time..." he said, casually.
"Hello, Malfoy," she greeted him, nodding.
She walked in the Geat Hall and sat at the right of the Headmaster's chair, while Draco took the sit on the left side.
Soon a loud mob composed of the second year to seventh year students started to come in, followed a couple of minutes later by Professor Lupin leading the first years.
"Now, when I call you name, you will sit on this stool, and I will place the Sorting hat on your head, it will sort you into your house. Understood?" the werewolf chuckled as the kids in front of him were clearly scared to death.
Hermione Granger caught sight of her son, who grinned back at her.
"Bareth, William" was sent into Ravenclaw, and other names went on, until it was the G's turn.
"Gareth, Lea" became a Gryffindor student, followed on the stool by "Granger, Jude".
At that name being called, Hermione tensed up and Draco raised a questioning eyebrow at the 11 year old with the spiked up hair. Some students started whispering at Jude's last name being the same one as their Transfirguration teacher.
"SLYTHERIN!" yelled the Sorting hat.
Jude smirked, relieved this was over, he tranquilly (A/N: is that a word??) made his way to his new house's table.
"Hermione, are you okay?" asked Severus Snape, leaning to his right.
She gulped and tried smiling.
"I guess so, I didn't think he would be in Slytherin, that's all. Well, he was always the ambitious one!"
A fake smiled plastered across her features. She applauded as "Heathrow, Eleanor" was send into Slytherin too.

A/N: Well, that's it for now!!! Tell me what you thought of it, please!! Should I continue or is this hopeless??? Be honest, please!!!
This fic will mostly be centered on the Draco/Hermione relationship, do not worry!! I just needed to get started on something. There will be a side story too, but not a predominant one!!
