A loud scream echoed through the castle. Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, Belle, and Beast filed into the room to find Mal with her hands cupped over her mouth with tears in her eyes and Ben passed out on the floor. Dead.
News spread out quickly across the country ("How did that happen?""Such depressing news").
After the funeral and after they stopped crying, (At least in public,) Belle and Beast were worried about who was going to run the kingdom. They were speaking about it and Mal overheard.
"Umm, I can," Mal said hopefully as they gave her skeptical looks. "It'll be just the same, he told me all the acts he was going to pass, and
I have really great ideas for the school."
They agreed to have Mal reign and had moved her into the castle. So, the VK's were in Mal's new bedroom in Castle Beast when Belle walked in with a smile, then a look of confusion.
"Who's that?" Belle asked nodding to the dark golden retriever with Ben's crown on its head in Mal's arms.
"Just a living memory." Jay responded.
"We named him Ben." Carlos continued.
"That's sweet. Mal, you'll be crowned in just a few weeks."
"Thank you, so much." Mal said, then after Belle left Mal, Jay, Evie, and Carlos' sweet smiles turned into sardonic ones as they came close to where Mal was sitting.
"Don't worry BennyBoo," They chorused, "we'll take care of the kingdom for you."
The dog they were speaking to was once a powerful king, now reduced to an animal companion because he trusted them. Because he trusted her.
Ben was walking Mal through the castle when she asked him something.
"Can true love's kiss wake anyone?"
"Yes, it can." Ben responded.
"And you would say that, I'm your true love?" Mal asked
"Of course." He said moving closer to her.
"So you won't be gone forever?" She asked
"What?" He couldn't process the question before she stabbed a syringe into his neck, injecting a green liquid into him. Then he fell to the floor. Mal got some fake tears ready before she screamed.
On the day of Mal's coronation, she walked down the aisle in another purple dress. She walked past Jay, Evie, and Carlos with evil glints in their eyes and Dude and Ben the dogs at their feet.
She approached the stage and kneeled. Fairy Godmother put the Queen's crown onto Mal's head. She held her wand out like she was going to knight Mal.
"Do you solemnly swear to govern the peoples of Auradon," said Fairy Godmother, "with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign."
"I do solemnly swear." Mal said with her fingers crossed behind her back.
Okay, I know that was painfully short, and that was so undetailed, but I thought the idea was pretty cool. Comment your thoughts below.
