The Selenias Waiting in My Brother's Garden
I can remember how my brother used to bring me to the empty slot of our backyard everyday during my youth. What was once so empty, so devoid of life, is now the selenia garden that I see every night I go home after work. Oh I will never forget how much care and love my brother placed in this very garden. Every petal, from root to tip, has been as much as a child to my brother's eyes. When he left to go enlist in the Oracle Knights, I could almost feel the flowers crying. Seasons come and go as they wait. Even if I take care of them, it would always seem that they are silently whispering behind my back, inwardly wishing that my brother would come home and water them instead of me.
Two years had already passed since Van's, my brother, death. Every waking moment after the incident reminded me of how I was there to witness him die. I cannot possibly count how many lives I've taken away, or how many families I have destroyed…but worse than all of that is when I come to realize that I was the one who killed my brother. He was everything to me just as the selenias meant everything to him. No matter how hard I try to erase it from my memory, I know that I will always love him, and that's what hurts me the most. The selenias wait for my brother the same way I used to wait for him in my youth, anticipating every hour, counting every minute, breathing every second, thinking and imagining the many various ways that my brother will play with me the minute he comes home.
Flowers can wait an eternity and still remember the promise my brother gave them. They will wait for eons and still learn to love. The difference between me and the selenias is that: The selenias waited for my brother because they loved him and he loved them back…but I wait for Luke because I love him, even if he'll never love me back.
A/N : Short huh?! Well it was supposed to be a one-shot but something came in my mind telling me to make another chapter so I will.
