Chapter 1: A Visit from A Goddess
I stumbled through the door with my school bags. Hopefully it wouldn't be like this next year, because my parents decided to ship me off to boarding school. Dropping my bags into my room, i start to look for a random pair of shorts and a shirt. I quickly change out of my school uniform and threw a towel in a old beach bag with sunscreen. I slipped on my flip flops and walked down to a beach. I stuck my feet in the sand and layed my towel down on the sand.
I started walking towards the ocean, until a bright golden light appeared, blinding me. Before me stood a lady with a gold and white flowing greek chiton. Her dark curly hair fell down her back in ringlets. She looked at me. "Hello young demigod." The lady said in a motherly tone. I dont know which scares me more, the fact that this lady had a godly aura coming from her, or that she called me a demigod.
There's no way I could be a demigod. I have BOTH of my parents. I glance at the lady once more, now thinking of her as a goddess. "Hi.. umm my lady?" I managed to stumble out. I honestly didnt know what to say, especially to a goddess. "I am Hera, queen of the gods, and you are Brianna, right?" Hera says in her powerful, but still motherly tone.
"Yes, I am. But shouldnt you be up on olympus or something?" I blurt out. Wrong thing to say. If looks could kill, I would be six feet under right now. "I'm here to assist you. Take this bracelet, and when you need it, it will turn into a sword once you take it off." Hera responds in a firm annoyed voice, trying to ignore my last comment. She hands me a silver charm bracelet, and i put it on.
"So what do I need the sword for, and what is a demigod?" I ask the first question bewildered, when the other one I meant to ask, even though i know the answer. "There's no time to explain. Zeus is calling me. I have to get back to olympus." And for the first time, I nocticed the thunder. Then Hera disappeared as fast as she appeared. "Way to ruin my afternoon." I muttered to myself. Usually would spend my afternoons swimming, but now it seemed too late to go swimming. Whatever, I thought. I dive into the water carelessly, thinking about what I plan to do the rest of my summer.
