Ch. 1: The Dream
It was a cool, windless night. I was walking by myself down a dark sidewalk. I was looking around at all the houses when suddenly I saw movement. I started to run and that's when I saw him.
The moon hadn't come out yet, so I couldn't see him perfectly. I turned around to see if anyone else was there but there wasn't. I turned around back around and found him standing not even five feet from me. The moon had finally come out and now I could see him perfectly. The first thing I noticed about him was his eyes.
His eyes were like fire with a hint of silver, he was very pale, brown hair, and he stood about 5"10'. His smile froze me in place. His canines were elongated. He suddenly grabbed a handful of my hair, yanked my head back to expose my throat, and just before he got the chance to bite me, I woke up screaming.
I got up and went into my bathroom to wash my face with cold water. My name is Crystal Clearnear, I'm 18 years old, a senior at East View High, I have emerald green eyes, short black hair with a blonde spot on my right side, I'm 5"2', and very pale skin. I've been having these dreams constantly ever since I was 6 years old and now in one week I would be 19 years old.
It was 3:30 by the time I went back to bed. It took me an hour and a half to get back to sleep. Just as I was beginning to dream, my dumb alarm went off. So I got up and turned it off. I dressed in a pair of jeans, a hoodie, and a pair of sneakers.
I grabbed a set of keys to the house, my car keys, and left for school. When I got to school, my friends were all acting weird. I got out of my car and walked over to one of my friends. I got to Stacey just as she went to turn around. I had to choke back a scream.
"Oh my God! Stacey what happened to your eyes?" I asked.
Now Stacey is a small blonde bottle rocket. She was raised right here in our small town in Texas. She had bright baby blue eyes and now they are an amethyst color. Her tan is gone so now she is as pale as the moon. Then I caught site of her neck and saw two tiny red marks that looked like puncture wounds but then convinced myself that I was being silly.
"I don't know. I woke up and found myself looking like this." She said very bouncy.
"Okay, we can figure it out later. We need to get to class now though or we are going to get a detention." I said urging her into the school building.
So in the middle of class, the lights started flickering on and off. Then they completely went out and I was hit in the back of the head. The next thing I knew was that I was being carried somewhere and then I heard a door open. I was laid down and I laid there listening to the footsteps walking away.
There was a steady breathing so I took the chance and opened my eyes. There laying with their back to me was a male. I found that I wasn't bound at all. I went to get up and the man spoke.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. You would never make it out of here." He said.
So I continued over to the door.
"I won't tell you again little girl. You won't make it out because I am the one who brought you here." The man said getting up off the bed.
He walked into the bathroom and I booked it out of there. I made it out of the house and out of the driveway. I discovered that I was in the woods and ran until I couldn't breathe. I reached a tree, climbed it, sat on a branch, and totally blacked out.
