Author's Note: This is simply a random drabble. It was inspired by the word given at 15minuteficlets, a community on Live Journal. This week's word was vacant and so this drabble was spawned. Nothing really alarming in here. It is Roy x Edward, so there is some shounen-ai. No yaoi. Nothing sexual even implied. Just a cute angsty romance. This is my first Hagaren drabble ever, so please give me feedback on anything and everything. I'd really appreciate it. Thank you! Enjoy!
Vacant
It wasn't as if he'd asked for it. It was quite the opposite, actually. He wanted people around. However Edward Elric wasn't one who often got his way -- not his mother, not his brother, not even Winry. What was a poor boy to do without a person in the world?
At the moment that Edward was starting to cry, Colonel Roy Mustang came up behind him and place a hand on Edward's shoulder. He swiveled the boy in his chair and gave him a peck on the cheek, soaking up his tears with his lips. Edward stared at him, flabberghasted.
Roy simply made a gesture that said "Shh, it's alright," by bringing his hand to his mouth and placing his index finger over his lips. Edward just stared at him quizzically. It wasn't a matter of whether or not this was right, but if it was something he, Edward Elric, should be doing with him, Roy Mustang. He stared for a moment longer before leaping foward and wrapping his arms around the Colonel and full out sobbing.
Roy placed his hand on Edward's back and rubbed it gently. No words escaped his pursed lips as Edward sobbed into him. Only the sooth sound of Roy's heartbeat was all that Edward could hear. He gave a tug at Roy's military garbs before pulling away and giving him this sad and rather pathetic look.
Roy stroked Edward's tear stained face amd pulled Edward in again, bowing his own head down as he perched his lips against Edward's.
Suddenly, Edward no longer felt so vacant anymore...
