At the stroke of midnight the carriage would change back into a pumpkin, but this particular spell wasn't cast by a fair god mother.
These words I worry about daily. When will the carriage change? I'll never know. I'm trying to get myself ready for when that day happens. The day when my brother will realize he wants to take the next step by himself. When this day comes I have no idea what I'll do. I mean we've been riding in the carriage for so long. This day can't be too far ahead.
"Kaoru," Haruhi said snapping me back into reality, "What's bothering you?" I looked at her and smiled. "Why would you think there was something bothering me?" I said with a laugh. "Kaoru!" She said, "I don't think I know." I sighed. "The carriage will turn back into a pumpkin soon," I said. "What does that mean?" She asked. I shook my head. "Nothing," I said shaking it off and joining my brother at the couch with the girls. "Kaoru," Hikaru said softly, "I was waiting for you to come. I was scared you got hurt or something."
"I'm sorry Hikaru," I said, "I just really needed to use the bathroom." All the girls started squealing and screeching.
At the end of the day I was tired of all the girls. Not that I showed it. I just wanted to spend as much time with Hikaru as I can before it's too late. Before that carriage changes back. Before our lives change forever. Before he realizes.
