Disclaimer: I do not own Labyrinth or David Bowie in all his wonders as Jareth The Goblin King! One can wish though can't they?

There's a raging storm outside. Rain is pelting the expansive library window. Branches of the grizzly old ash tree tapping at the glass with each gust of wind.

Jareth The Goblin king is pacing the floor in front of his desk,

Items are thrown haphazardly over the surface

the enigmatic owl statue his mother gave him last Christmas. She always said it looked just like him in his owl form. The timepiece in the crystal ball, stacks of well-worn tomes…. He had failed.. Lost her!

Note to royal self .. Never listen to your goblin subjects again.

Jareth would never admit to anyone .. But he had been so desperate to win Sarah's affections that he'd actually thought he's subjects' idea of stopping time within a crystal ballroom sounded genius

He thought it might have worked ..till she saw that blasted clock!

Now his world had come crashing down and he was determined to win Sarah once and for all .. But how?

More pacing

Juggling crystal balls to help stress and thinking… one slips from his nibble fingers and rolls across the desk to stop at the old dusty copy of Shakespeare's' Macbeth

That's it! A spell! She'd never know ..and he'd get the love of his life… it was perfect.

Jareth finds the oldest book in his possession… Merlin's book of enchantments, passed down through the family for ages upon ages.

"Stardust, The Alliance of Hearts …

Seeking peace,

For I love you so truly

For you whom I can not forget

I want to adore, fear you

More than I desire any reward.

I want to stay faithful . . .

Warning : Love spells are a very tough topic, and they can be very powerful as well. You must be very careful here, more then anywhere else, that you attempt to cast only the correct spell.

For this reason I alone hold the end to this spell..

~Merlin"

Little did Jareth know, it wasn't an enchantment I had written, but a simple yet equally magical poem. Written to make stubborn Goblin Kings think.

Actually between you, me and the thirteen hour clock. It's just a nudge in the right direction I wrote this morning … Why you ask? Simple, I've been keeping an eye on my great, great-grandson.

I always liked Sarah anyway, she's got the power.

Blessed Samhain everyone!

Merlin
