Ron took a look to the brunette who ate in silence, looking her shoes. He couldn't believe what Hermione had done for them.
Hermione Granger, the perfect student had lied a teacher to save him and Harry. And not an ordinary teacher. She had lied to professor McGonagall!
A hour ago he thought that that girl was the most horrible person he had met in his whole life (after Snape and Malfoy, of course).
But everything has changed in an hour. He guessed that fight a troll was enough to make everybody show their "good side".
In that moment Harry got up searching for more food, leaving them alone. They stood for a moment in a very awkward silence. Finally Ron said something.
"I'm sorry… again" Hermione raised her sight, not beliving that he had spoke to her. "I'm sorry for saying that things about you, I shouldn't had to…"
"Don't worry. I guess I wasn't really nice too. I was never very good at dealing with people, and I have only a few friends. And I guess it isn't hard to guess why." She said with her eyes full of tears.
Ron looked around trying to see Harry, hearing the sobs of the girl who tried to hide her face behind her hair.
He gave her a little pat in her head which looked more like swipes, but Hermione raised her head and have him a little smile.
"Don't worry; you will have never to deal with that again. You have me… and Harry, and Neville… Everything is going to change"
Hermione wiped the tears from her eyes and gave him a ear to ear smile.
Everything was going to change.
That day was the beginning of the rest of their lives.
A new life.
Together.
