Shadow the Hedgehog stared at the bat, holding back a groan. This had to be the stupidest thing he'd ever heard of. He tugged at the annoying costume; a vampire costume consisting of a cape, white shirt, and black slacks.
The bat herself was wearing even less clothing than usual; shorts so short they could barely be called such, with layers of lace at her hips, what was b basically a bedazzled bra, and a large hat, all in black. "Come on, sugar." she was pushing Shadow, "You gotta try it!"
"No." the hedgehog replied flatly, even thought Rouge was already nudging him closer and closer to the door.
As the bat rang the doorbell, a tiny old lady smiled at them, Shadow biting back an annoyed growl. "Trick-or-Treat!" Rouge practically giggled.
"Trick-or-treat." Shadow sighed.
Instead of reaching beside the door for candy, as she did the bat, she reached into her purse. "Here, sonny." she said kindly. "I think you might like this better." She then closed the door.
The hedgehog stared the the object in his hand. Rouge glared; "She gave you an EMERALD?!" the bat cried.
Shadow smirked. "It's only plastic, but if it means that much to you . . ." Shadow pinned that toy brooch to Rouge's shirt, sealing the deal with a small, quick kiss.
A smirk quickly grew across the bat's face. "You sly dog." she teased gently, taking Shadow's arm.
The woman watched the two of them walk away. "Ah, young love." she chuckled.
