I can't believe I just wrote Snarry. Bleh. I know it's short, but it's something.

For the Men's Football event in the Hogwarts Games

Also for the Pairing Diversity Boot Camp with the prompt: smugness

"He's James Potter all over again," you lie. You have to or else they'll know.

Because he isn't James at all, though when he closes his eyes it's hard to tell the difference. There's no hint of that conceited smugness that always used to taunt you in the hallways. He doesn't curse you every chance he gets, though you are quite sure he wants to. And to be perfectly honest you don't blame him

He's brave and noble and foolish in an endearing sort of way. He's everything you could hope for him to be and you marvel at how that's even possible considering he was raised by Petunia. You can't repress a shudder at the thought.

And you can't pretend that those green eyes don't break your heart a little bit. You hate to admit it to yourself, much less to anyone else. But you learned long ago that the truth hurts and that's why people lie.

He doesn't have a clue. And it'll stay that way.

Because he's Lily Evans all over again and you're determined not to screw this up. Not this time.
