He stood there watching her leave. He thought everything was going great untill she called him from work that day to tell him that she was moving out that night.
He had placed the story together barely but it wasn't what he wanted to think.
His friend of 9 years was madly in love with his Fiance. They had went to a formal dinner together, Nothing big he thought just as friends. She had been acting strange ever scence that night. He had suspected cheating but quickly threw that tought away, but now.
Now it seemed more real than ever as he kicked the chair out from underneth him.
Rain laid there in the hospitle bed for what seemed like hours.
Somehow he hadn't broken his neck with the horribly rigged suicide attempet,
but had caused his neck to fracture explaining the pain he was in and the high dose of morphine, Which wasn't helping. He had also awoke to see his "best friend" siting there with HIS fiance. "What in god's filthy name are you two fuckers doing here"
Tanis looked at him puzzeld. "That's no way to treat you're friends dude"
He said as she kissed him on the check.
Rain hit the call button and his RN was in there in a heartbeat.
"I would rather not see these two again or next time i might not mess up"
The nurse quickly understood and whisked them both out of the room so fast Rain couldn't even blink. He looked at the paper work at the end of his bed. Apperently he was going to be dissmissed today so he went and switched into the clothes that SHE brought for him.
"God, Why did they have to come. Of all people." Then he remeberd She was his Medical proxy,
meaning if he was incapaciteated she called the shots. He wished she would've just killed him but she wanted to play more head games. He was ready for it.
As he got into his car, She must have brought it to him, he saw them standing next to tanis's Honda Civic. "Oh god. At least i know my car will always be better than anything he could ever get his hands on." Rain owned a 65 Ford Mustang Fastback, one of the most sleak cars in all of Death County. "Rain!" Tanis was running over to him. "Dude, i'm sorry about all this. I didn't mean for this to happen. You know how i am." Rain looked at him as though he had just punched him in the face. "What the fuck! you fuck me over, take my Fiance, and then expect us to still be friends!?" Rain had to hold back every fiber of his being not to punch Tanis in the face. Rain got in his car and noticed that his spare key was already in the ignetion. "Well i guess she dosn't care if my car gets jacked or not"
As he drove home he was reminded of her every inch of the way. The songs that came on the radio were all from her favorite bands, everything resembeled her favorite things and it drove him crazy. He wished she would have never talked to him in the subway that one day.
He never regreted anything he ever did except talking to her.
The lights were off when he got home. "Good at least she hasn't been here." he thought as he walked in the side door. when he walked in he saw a red light flashing in the corner.
He pushed the button on his answering machine. only one new message. it was the shortest sentance he had ever heard. "Turn around" the voice in the machine said. As soon as the messege was over or maybe right before it ended he turned only to be looking into the blackest eyes he had ever seen. "Hello Rain" Said the stranger. Rain backed up a little to see who was in his house and fell stepping backwards. As he looked up he thought he was looking into the face of god himself. The man looked like an angel.
