* The Only Hope Fighting For *
Chapter One: Meet Kawa
Kawa's POV
I woke up with a jolt.
Only a dream...only a dream...
The gong rang, I stepped outside with the normal beggining words of the day: G'mornin' Master.'
Me, Silver, Sandstorm, and Munchkin bowed to the small sand cat that walked by with a knobbled staff in his hand.
"Good morning, my students." Our master said. "Today I want you to train; focus on it. You know what will happen." With a mysterious sweep of his staff he walked stiffly over to his room.
We went back to our quarters.
I had just arived two days ago, and being the only Cheetah in Australia was kind of strange, but me and the other chosen ones had gotten along well.
I was excitied, but nervous. The Dragon Warrior would be revealed in three days from all around the world. We would board a ship today and travel all the way to China.
What if all the practise hadn't payed off?
I walked to the kitchen and snuck a few cookies and a milk carton into my pocket.
I took a run for it before the cook could notice.
Skidding to a halt, I ran into my room, almost slamming the door. I stuffed the cookies into my mouth helping myself to a glass of milk and swallowing all of it right as the cook, a koala ran, huffing and out of breath.
"What am I going to do with you,
Kawa?!" She snorted, grinning. I laughed. Me and the cook were, well, sort of like friends.
The cook left the room and I swallowed the remaning cookies that I had hidden behind my back.
I walked out of my room and knocked on Silver's door. The silver kangaroo opened the door and smiled.
"Hiya, Kawa!" She greeted cheerfully.
"Come on let's play!" I answered her.
"Oh, okay give me a second!" she smiled.
"One, times up!" I laughed.
"No, you know what I mean!" she called out.
"No I don't, " I replied, laughing.
"Then one minute." she stuck our her tounge. I started counting
"One, two, three, four..."
She came out. "Come on!" she said as I finished counting.
"Hey, right on time!" I snickered.
We ran outside, and started to play checkers when the gong rang for the second time.
We ran into the training hall. Sandstorm the dingo was already there. We stepped up beside him right as Munchkin the lion padded in.
Master Haro greeted us before telling us, "It's time."
