The others are asleep, or so I believe, or hope, as I give a small sigh.
My eyes wander downward,now I'm staring at my hand.
An odd thought crosses my mind, is it really a curse? Or is it a blessing?
I shake the thought away, how could it be a blessing?
All it does is shorten how long I can expect to live.

A small voice in the back of my head insists.
You wouldn't have ever met any of them if you hadn't been traveling and you were traveling because of it.

It might have brought me to them, but it will take me away from them.

"I don't think so. You still have at least two weeks left until that hand of yours heals. You're not going out there and getting yourself killed, got it?"
Miroku stared at Inu-Yasha, he had haad an almost, protective tone...
"I asked did you get that?"
Miroku nodded, still staring.
"Good. Now go to sleep, will you Miroku?"
