Flickering Gold
The coolness of the breeze that stirred the blue bandanna sent a near invisible shiver down the new-leaf-green skin it rested on. Golden sunburst brown eyes flickered in the dark, searching the emptiness of the shadows that roiled around him, they rippled, seemingly alive as he remained but a still silhouette, just barely seen on the edge of darkness. The eyes flicked down, narrowing in, focusing, on a woman walking in the alley below. he eyes watched her, narrowing as they spotted a figure step out behind, then another. Three fingered hands twitched on padded knees as thin lips pulled back in a half- snarl, an unspoken warning. the figure's closed in on the woman who froze, as two more cut her off. The body of the eyes moved, quicker than the eye could follow, a shadow wrapped in silence. A lean, muscled, frame flicked through a brief place of light. Golden-burst brown eyes calculated the scene, then pausing only briefly he executed a perfect flip, landing in front of the largest figure. A punch, a sweep of the feet, a block and suddenly he was gone.
The other three froze, shocked as the woman sprinted away in panic, slipping out of sight as her would be attackers focused on their fallen comrade. Golden-burst-brown eyes stayed on the edge of the scene, the shadows hiding him, wrapping around him in a cloak like shield. Invisible save to the most well trained eyes. Golden-burst-brown eyes blinked, smirked, and then placed a three fingered hand on a rung before vanishing completely into the shadows as he scaled back up onto the roof. He perched on the edge again, narrowed eyes searching the alley below. He nodded in relief as the woman scrambled into a cab and it shot away. A shiver of deep green-emerald skin brushed against the new-leaf-green of Golden-burst-brown eyes.
"Yo, Fearless," the second rumbled, "thought patrolin' was ma' job?"
"You don't own a monopoly on it," Golden-burst-brown eyes, known as Fearless mumbled.
A bark of laughter erupted from the second, Amber eyes flashing in humor as Golden-burst-brown eyes smirked, lips quirked.
